Abstract: Impedance across a load, such as a pair of face-to-face electrodes and/or a patient's transthoracic and transmyocardial impedance, respectively, is modeled as a resistor in series with a capacitor, wherein the reactance component of the impedance equals 2&pgr;*frequency/capacitance. A reference square wave voltage is applied to the load in series with a selected load resistor, and a response voltage is measured across the load. Both the reference voltage and the response voltage are then used to estimate a transfer function between them. Equating this transfer function to a resistor-capacitor circuit model results in estimation of the actual resistance and capacitance components of the true impedance. Alternately, the impedance may be measured with a high current load, such as during a defibrillator discharge.

Abstract: A fluid dispensing system is disclosed herein, the system including a container adapted to hold a material, the container having a first recess positioned on an outer surface of the container and a passageway extending into the container, the passageway positioned within the recess of the container. A pump assembly is provided which is adapted to dispense fluid from the container. The pump assembly is further adapted to engage the passageway of the container and having a storage position wherein the pump assembly is disposed substantially within the recess. In selected embodiments, a mounting bracket is provided which is adapted to support the container. The mounting bracket may include a base, a column extending upwardly from the base, and an upper member which may be pivotably mounted to the column. In some embodiments, a boss and detent may be provided so that the boss engages the detent upon placement of the container within the mounting bracket.

Abstract: The present invention provides a napkin assembly for a dispenser. The napkin assembly may include a first napkin sheet further including a plurality of napkins and a second napkin sheet further including a plurality of napkins. Each napkin of both sheets having a basis weight from about 20 gsm to about 40 gsm may be connected to an adjacent napkin in series by a plurality of tabs. The second napkin sheet may be positioned proximate to the first napkin sheet in an offset relation and the first and second napkin sheets may be formed into a nested configuration for dispensing.

Abstract: A process for treating a fibrous material which includes the steps of: 1) providing a liquid suspension composed of fibrous material; 2) intermixing the liquid suspension of fibrous material with a treatment over a time period T1—wherein the treatment requires a period of time TR sufficient to treat the fibrous material; 3) depositing the liquid suspension of fibrous material and intermixed treatment onto a forming surface to form a layer and removing a substantial portion of the liquid, over a perod of time T2; and 4) applying pressurized jets of a liquid to the layer of fibrous material to wash unused treatment from the fibrous material within a period of time T3. Periods of time T1, T2 and T3 are immediately consecutive and amount to a total period of time at least as great as TR.

Abstract: The present invention desirably provides a fabric including a synthetic fiber structure first zone, a synthetic fiber structure second zone, and a short fiber third zone. The first zone may include a spunbond web layer and a meltblown web layer. The synthetic fiber structure second zone may be positioned proximate to the synthetic fiber structure first zone and the short fiber third zone may be positioned substantially between the first and second zones. Desirably, the first and second zones are entwined.

Abstract: A spacer member for a sheet material dispenser. Desirably, the spacer member may be positioned between a first sheet material and a second sheet material for minimizing contact between the first and second sheet materials and preventing the inadvertent dispensing of the second sheet material.

Abstract: A dispenser for center feed roll products includes a base and a cover adapted to fit the base. The cover further defines a cavity to receive the center feed roll product. The base further includes a roll platform and a securing means. The securing means defining an aperture is coupled to the roll platform and is adapted to support a center feed roll product. In addition, the securing means permits the installation of a roll product through the aperture and prevents the removal of the roll product.

Abstract: A method of making a nonwoven composite material. The method includes the steps of: providing a hydraulically entangled web containing a fibrous component and a nonwoven layer of substantially continuous filaments; applying a bonding material to at least one side of said web; and creping said at least one side of the hydraulically entangled web. The bonder material may be an aqueous mixture including a curable latex polymer, a pigment, and a cure promoter. Also disclosed is a nonwoven composite material made of a hydraulically entangled web including a fibrous component; a nonwoven layer of substantially continuous filaments; and regions containing bonder material covering at least a portion of at least one side of the composite material, wherein at least one side of the web has been creped.

Abstract: A smoking accessory which functions as a cigar hole punch. The implement contains a hidden and detachable cigar hole punch and puncturing awl. The outward or exterior element of the device serves as a storage compartment for housing the puncturing awl and cigar hole punch when they are not in use. The implement itself should be manufactured of a material which enables a user to display the implement as an item of jewelry. Such an implement serves the dual purpose of denoting status for the user as well as providing the user with a useful device for cutting or otherwise opening the sealed end of a cigar.

Abstract: An animal waste carrying bag and leash for carrying articles such as pet waste, waste retrieval articles, bags, and personal belongings. The carrying bag may be attached to the pet leash or carried by hand. A name plate on the carrying bag provides identification of the owner and a fluorescent strip on the carrying bag provides for safer walking at night. The apparatus allows for a cleaner, more dignified way of transporting pet waste.

Abstract: A game apparatus having a game board divided into a grid pattern. Playing paths are arranged to allow player tokens to progress along bordering grid squares in a predesignated manner until player's token enters a center area. Players are rewarded and penalized by landing on grid squares or drawing cards resulting in gain or loss of play money. Additional territorial areas are set aside on the game board providing players with the opportunity to further penalize other players for landing therein. The purpose of the game is to accumulate and maintain the most wealth by game's end.
