  • Patent number: 8177651
Abstract: A weighted ball rebounder and method for increasing power on an athletic performance provide a trampoline member including a resilient sheet affixed to a peripheral frame pivotally coupled to a base and disposed on a substantially horizontal surface. Stabilizing members prevent the rebounder from moving along the surface when a weighted ball such as a 2–20 pound medicine ball, is rebounded therefrom. The trampoline member is angularly adjustable up to 180° in fixed positions. The method provides a user drawing a weighted ball in a direction away from the rebounder, then abruptly swinging the weighted ball toward the rebounder and releasing. The rebounder returns the weighted ball in flight, to the user.

  • Patent number: 6796494
Abstract: A method and system for initializing and distributing information cards that contain information for configuring a computer system. The information card contains configuration information relating to the configuration of a user's computer. A card generating computer system generates the information cards with user-specific configuration information. The card generating computer system receives a request for an information card from a user of the computer and directs the execution of a transfer program at the user's computer. That transfer program collects configuration information from the user's computer and sends the collected configuration information back to the card generating computer system. The card generating computer system then stores the received configuration information on the information card. The information card is then sent to the user.

  • Patent number: 6724608
Abstract: A method for electrically charging a probe by plasma technology for use in pipetting compounds in small volumes includes the steps of placing the probe to be charged in a plasma chamber; creating a vacuum within the plasma chamber and then introducing a stable gas into the plasma chamber; applying electromagnetic energy to the plasma chamber, thereby molecularly disassociating the gas, thus creating charged ions, free electrons, and free radicals, charging the probe by the free radicals attaching to the probe; venting the plasma chamber to back to atmospheric pressure; and removing the charged probe from the plasma chamber, whereby the charged probe can pipette compounds in small volumes. The method is applicable to pipetting both liquid and solid compounds. In another embodiment, the plasma generation is at atmospheric pressure without a containment chamber and the surface charging effect is used for surfaces of both the fluid dispensing device and the fluid containing device.

  • Patent number: 6676206
Abstract: A rocking, reclining, foldable chair is disclosed. The invention comprises a curved rocker or rockers having a limiting extension; a leg or legs pivotally attached to said rocker; a seat pivotally attached to said leg or legs; a releasable support pivotally attached to any two of the aforesaid parts to prevent said chair from folding unexpectedly; a back pivotally attached to said seat or leg or legs; a pair of arms movably connected to said back; and a leg rest pivotally attached to said seat and said arms, said leg rest being movable between a rocking and a reclining position; and moving means for moving said leg rest, said back and said seat between said rocking and said reclining position.

  • Patent number: 5346233
Abstract: An slider for adjusting the weight distribution of a semi-trailer. The slider comprises an apertured track which extends longitudinally along the bottom of a trailer and a dual axle carriage slidably coupled to the track. A pneumatically operated pin is attached to the carriage for selectively extending and retracting a pin into the aperture. The slider further includes a hydraulic cylinder for sliding the carriage along the track while the pin is retracted whereby the position of the carriage and the dual axles can be slidably adjusted.
