  • Patent number: 8073353
Abstract: A controlling section controls an image forming section to form a calibration pattern on an object. The calibration pattern includes a plurality of first patterns and a plurality of second patterns. Each of the first patterns includes at least one pair of marks. Each of the at least one pair of marks has different colors and overlaps with each other in a first direction. The first patterns have different degrees of overlapping from each other. Each of the second patterns is formed between one of the first patterns and another one of the first patterns in the moving direction. The detecting section detects the first and second patterns formed on the object. The correcting section corrects the image forming position in the first direction based on detection results of the first patterns, and corrects the image forming position in a second direction based on detection results of the second patterns.

  • Patent number: 8053810
Abstract: A semiconductor substrate containing a single crystalline group IV semiconductor is provided. A single crystalline lattice mismatched group IV semiconductor alloy layer is epitaxially grown on a portion of the semiconductor layer, while another portion of the semiconductor layer is masked. The composition of the lattice mismatched group IV semiconductor alloy layer is tuned to substantially match the lattice constant of a single crystalline compound semiconductor layer, which is subsequently epitaxially grown on the single crystalline lattice mismatched group IV semiconductor alloy layer. Thus, a structure having both the group IV semiconductor layer and the single crystalline compound semiconductor layer is provided on the same semiconductor substrate. Group IV semiconductor devices, such as silicon devices, and compound semiconductor devices, such as GaAs devices having a laser emitting capability, may be formed on the on the same lithographic level of the semiconductor substrate.

  • Patent number: 8036699
Abstract: It is possible to surely protect the user's ear from a sudden large volume and enable the user to surely and clearly hear a sound as information to be alarmed. In case an incoming call signal is received when the user holds a mobile telephone (1) at the speaking position and listens to a message output from an audio output unit (8), a control unit (17) makes a vibrator (27) generate a vibration as an alarm to call user's attention. At the timing when the user has sufficiently separated the mobile telephone (1) from his/her ear, the control unit (17) makes the audio output unit (8) output a ringtone of large volume. Thus, it is possible to surely protect the user's ear from a sudden large volume. Even when a music composition to notify the receipt of incoming call signal is used as a ringtone, the user can surely and clearly hear the sound as information to be alarmed.
