  • Patent number: 5951161
Abstract: An apparatus for preparing a biofungicide mixture for application to harvested fruit. The apparatus includes a storage container for holding a dry biofungicide component. The storage container is attached to a conduit which has a screw conveyor rotatably disposed within it for transferring a desired amount of the dry biofungicide component to a preparation tank. A feed motor is attached to the conveyor and controls its rotation. An agitator mounted within the preparation tank mixes the biofungicide component with water to form a biofungicide mixture. A water level control device determines the level of the liquid within the tank. The water level control device controls flow of water into the preparation tank by actuating a valve along a water conduit. The water level control device also controls the startup of the feed motor. A transfer pump transfers biofungicide mixture from the preparation tank to an application tank.

  • Patent number: 5944713
Abstract: A method of treating the interior surface of a body cavity of a patient using an optical fiber having at its distal end a tip which partially absorbs and partially emits laser radiation supplied to the tip by the optical fiber. The distal end of the optical fiber is inserted into the cavity. An irrigating fluid is introduced into the cavity, wherein the fluid irrigates the interior surface. The irrigating fluid is in heat-transfer relationship with the tip. The irrigation fluid is heated by supplying laser radiation to the tip whereby laser radiation absorbed by the tip raises the temperature of the tip and the surrounding irrigating fluid. The surface of the body cavity to be treated is selectably exposed with the laser radiation for thermally and optically treating said surface.

  • Patent number: 5942114
Abstract: A yarn carrier is provided of the type including a substantially rigid tubular core having passageways through the sidewall thereof for the passage of dye or wet finishing bath into the yarn to be wrapped thereon. A filter sleeve is wrapped around the outer surface of the tubular core to prevent entrapment of the yarn in the passageways and for filtering the dye and/or finishing bath. The filter sleeve is formed from a filter material which is wrapped into a sleeve and abutting edges of the filter material are bonded together along a seam. The seam is contemplated to be substantially continuous and extend the length of the sleeve. The tubular sleeve is slid over or heat shrunk onto the outside surface of the tubular core prior to the winding of the yarn thereon.

  • Patent number: 5941019
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a nursery container for plants and the like. The nursery container includes a bottom, a side wall extending upward from the bottom, and a lip formed on an upper portion of the side wall. A first attachment component formed on the nursery container, preferably on the container lip. The first attachment component mates with a second attachment component for attaching an ancillary or attachable item to the nursery container. In one embodiment of the invention the first attachment component extends through a hole formed in the nursery container and includes a base located on an inside surface of the nursery container. A retaining flange is formed on the first attachment component at a location adjacent the outside surface of the container. The retaining flange and the base prevent the first attachment component from coming out the hole in the container. • Patent number: 5937753
Abstract: A device is provided for stretching a screen secured to a screen printing roller frame. A series of wrenching stations are provided on a fixed work area. The wrenching stations include a wrench member shaped and dimensioned to mate with the end portions of the roller frame rollers so that the wrench may cause rotation of the roller. A first and second wrenching station are positioned adjacent one another at one corner of the work area and are fixed in position. A third wrenching station is positioned opposite the first wrenching station for rotating the opposing parallel roller in the roller frame at the same end as the first wrenching station. A fourth wrenching station is provided in an opposing relationship with the second wrenching station similar to the relationship between the first and third wrenching station. Actuation of the wrenching stations rotates and torques the respective rollers, stretching the screen on the roller frame.
