Abstract: System and method for identifying a pattern. A method of the invention compiles a pattern description where the pattern description defines a series of a first event and a second event relating to the first event. The first event is received and includes a type parameter data, a time parameter data, and a substance parameter data. A system of the invention includes a script component for associating or attaching a first script to the first event. The first script defines the type, time, and substance parameters of the second event as a function of the parameters of the first event according to the pattern description. A pattern recognition engine executes the attached first script and the executed script identifies the second event and thereby identifies the pattern.

Abstract: In a network computing environment, a user-centric system and method for controlling access to user-specific information maintained in association with a web-services service. When a web-services client desires access to the user-specific information, the client sends a request. The request identifies the reasons/intentions for accessing the desired information. The request is compared to the user's existing access permissions. If there is no existing access permission, the request is compared to the user's default preferences. If the default preferences permit the requested access, an access rule is created dynamically and the client's request is filled, without interrupting the user. If the default preferences do not permit the request to be filled, a consent user interface may be invoked. The consent user interface presents one or more consent options to a party with authority to grant consent, thereby permitting the user to control whether the client's access will be filled.

Abstract: Creating an account via a mobile device. A request to create an account is received from a user via a mobile device. The request is received from the mobile device according to a wireless communications protocol. In response to the received request, a confirmation message is delivered to the mobile device for rendering to the user as a challenge. A response to the rendered challenge is received from the user via the mobile device. It is determined if the received response to the rendered challenge corresponds to the delivered confirmation message. And the account is created for the user if the received response to the rendered challenge is determined to correspond to the delivered confirmation message. Other aspects of the invention are directed to computer-readable media for use with account creation via a mobile device.

Abstract: A notification subscription application allows a subscriber to maintain event notification continuity in a load-balanced work environment. The notification subscription application proactively provides the subscriber notifications indicating an operating status of the subscription. In this manner, subscribers can reduce the number of missed event notifications, by readily reestablishing a subscription when required. The notification service associates markers with events such that event notifications occurring during a period of time when the notification subscription is not operating properly can be identified when the subscription is reestablished.

Abstract: A fastener assembly is disclosed for securing an object to channel framing. One embodiment of the assembly includes an elongate body such as a nut which engages inside faces of the framing at opposite sides of a slot in the framing, a washer spaced from the nut which engages outside faces of the framing at opposite sides of the slot, and a spring interposed between and connecting the nut and the washer for generating a force holding the washer and nut in clamping engagement with respective faces of the framing prior to securing an object to the framing.

The metadata is a string of coefficients, which may be specified by the content author, to define to conversion of the M channels of digital audio data into N channels.

Abstract: A ring binder mechanism includes a housing and first and second hinge plates supported by the housing for pivoting movement relative thereto. A first ring member is mounted on the first hinge plate and moveable with the pivoting motion of the first hinge plate relative to a second ring member between a closed position and an opened position. An interlocking formation locks the first ring member and second ring member in the closed position. An actuator is mounted on the housing for movement relative to the housing. The actuator is adapted to pivot the first and second hinge plates and to translate the first hinge plate relative to the second hinge plate in a direction substantially parallel to a longitudinal axis of the housing.

Abstract: Amplification mixtures, kits, amplicons, kits and processes are provided for amplifying a nucleic acid. In particular, provided are processes which utilize an amplification mixture comprising a polymerase, a deoxynucleotidetriphosphate (dNTP) mixture which contains modified dNTPs, a first primer and a second primer. Further provided are dNTP mixtures which contain modified dNTPs for at least two of the four nucleotide triphosphates, which when incorporated into a polynucelotide, impart resistance to enzymatic degradation by an exonuclease at the sites of incorporation of the modified dNTPs. Also provided are the amplicons and vectors which incorporate the modified nucleotides.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for dynamically applying a rights management policy to a message by allowing an administrator to associate certain rights management policies with certain senders and recipients of messages, with groups of users possessing certain common criteria which define the users and groups of users, with certain attributes of the message, and with certain environmental attributes. Also disclosed is a method for allowing an administrator to automatically update a rights management protected message as it passes through a message transfer agent. The administrator may determine either on a regular interval or an ad-hoc basis that the message transfer agent scan the messages stored to determine whether or not the content has expired. If the content has indeed expired the administrator may take steps to have the expired content deleted entirely, refreshed with more current content, or replaced with a tombstone indicating that the original content has expired.

Abstract: Methods providing clients with a full contextual metadata experience. Metadata include multiple forms of property data, or information, relating to media accessed by a media player, such as a CD in a CD-ROM drive of a computer. Metadata is transferred from a server to a client. Identification parameters associated with the accessed media file are submitted by the client to a server, and property data is retrieved and forwarded to the client. The metadata provides the user with integrated, contemporaneous property data directly related to the media file being played, providing automatic, integrated access to data from multiple databases, simply by accessing a related media file through a media player, without further direction from the user.

Abstract: Managing a web service provided by a plurality of servers coupled to a data communication network. Two versions of the web service are executed on the plurality of servers and a selected version of the web service is identified for execution based on a request from a user for access the web service. While access to the web service is permitted via at least one server, the web service is updated on at least one other server. One or more servers providing the web service may specify a default version of the web service as the selected version if the request from the user does not specify a version of the web service for access.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a color filter with mosaic pixel array arrangement. The color filter comprises a plurality of pixel arrays. The pixel array has four sub-pixels. The color of the sub-pixel of the pixel array is identical to that of another sub-pixel of another pixel array adjacent to the pixel array. The sub-pixels with same color form a sub-pixel group so that the area of a single color of the sub-pixel group is increased. Therefore, the adhesion strength between the sub-pixel group and the substrate can be augmented to avoid peeling from the substrate. According to the invention, the yield rate of the product will be raised and the chromaticity will be improved.

Further, said films may be free or isolated membranes, or coatings on substrates such a porous substrates, capillary tubes, chromatographic packing material, and monolithic stationary phases and used to separate chiral compounds. The present invention is also directed to a method for forming such enantioselective polyelectrolyte complex films.

Abstract: An oven for maintaining cooked foods at temperatures suitable for serving the foods or even for cooking foods has a cabinet containing multiple heat sinks of channel-shaped configuration. The ends of the heat sinks open out of the cabinet, so that any heat sink may receive a tray of food from either the front or back of the cabinet. The interior surface of the heat sinks generally conform to the cross-sectional shapes of the trays, so that the heat sinks lie along the bottoms and sides of the trays. The heat sinks have a heating elements extended along their sides and bottoms for elevating the temperature of the heat sinks and directing heat into the trays within the heat sinks. In addition, each heat sink also contains a cover which may close the top of the tray in the heat sink and thereby retard the escape of moisture from the tray or may vent the interior of the tray.
