Abstract: A 4/6 pole PSC motor having main and auxiliary winding configurations. Common windings are energized in both a 4-pole configuration and energized in a 6-pole configuration for both the main and the auxiliary winding configurations. An additional winding is energized in the 4-pole configuration only. As a result, the air-gap flux level of the 4-pole configuration can be varied substantially independent of the air-gap flux level of the 6-pole configuration by varying the configuration of the additional winding.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for producing composite data by a server computer with a distributed communication controller interface involves deforming a template creating a mapping relationship between co-registered data and subject data, filtering the co-registered data, and mapping this filtered co-registered data according to the mapping data. A client computer with a distributed communication controller interface requests the composite data from the server computer and transmits the subject data to the server computer. The client presents the received composite data to an operator and monitors the operators use of the composite data.
Abstract: A method of preparing connected coils of wound ribbon in an alternating pattern to reduce twisting thereof during continuous axial ribbon feed to a processing machine. Each coil has a sequence of turns wound about a central axis and includes central end at an inner-most turn of the sequence of turns and an outer end at an outer-most turn of the sequence of turns. The outer end of a first coil of the coils is connected to the central end of a second coil of the coils. The method includes orienting the first coil in a clockwise winding direction and orienting the second coil in a counterclockwise winding direction such that at least some twists developed during axial ribbon feed of the first coil are removed during axial ribbon feed of the second coil.

Abstract: A truss jigging system has tools moveable in a channel to different locations on an assembly table and which can be readily interchanged. The tools are capable of snap locking engagement with a carriage mounted in the table channels. A resilient component support on the carriage supports components of the truss in a position above the top of the assembly table. The component support deforms when a downward force is applied by a press for driving connector plates into the components so that the component engages the table. A heel locating device of the jigging system can be secured to the table and extended or retracted as needed to precisely locate the truss heel.
Abstract: An interactive environment is provided for integrated circuit (IC) designers to do an emulation session on a hardware accelerator 111 and then move to simulator 131, and vice versa. An aspect of the present inventive solution swaps memory state and logic storage node state (such as flip-flops and latches) between the accelerator 111 and simulator 131. A complete context switch is performed to create a time shared environment on hardware accelerator 111 so that multiple IC designers can access and use the accelerator. Multiple memory pages can be incorporated to minimize state swap time. Multiple accelerators 111 can be interconnected with a plurality of simulators 131 and a plurality of workstations 101 to allow multiple designers to do interactive operations and allows shifting back and forth between hardware emulation and software simulation.

A track assembly is located within the enclosed area and supported on the windshield. The atomizer is part of a spray assembly mounted on the track assembly and is movable thereon in at least one horizontal direction relative to the wind shield. A reservoir integral with the spray assembly and adapted to hold a liquid spray composition is operatively connected to the atomizer to supply the spray composition thereto.
Abstract: A lubricating system for delivering charges of lubricant and air for aerifying the lubricant to multiple points of lubrication. The system comprises a series of air-operated lubricant injectors each of which is operable in response to delivery thereto of operating air to deliver a charge of lubricant. The injectors are organized in a row in engagement with one another. Each injector has a lubricant passage extending through it, the lubricant passages in the injectors being in end-to-end communication with one another to form a lubricant manifold extending through the row for receiving lubricant and charging the injectors.
Abstract: The invention concerns an improved pyrogenicity test for use in automated immunoassay systems, in which a sample is incubated with a monocyte-containing reagent in a pyrogen-free assay system preferably comprising a surface coated with pyrogen-free anti-cytokine antibodies. The invention also concerns pyrogen-free assay systems coated with pyrogen-free antibodies for use in these tests. The invention also relates to a test to measure the basal production of endogenous mediators of the inflammatory response by leukocytes and a method of measuring the capacity of a leukocyte to respond to a stimuli.

Abstract: A hand-held pneumatic rotary drive tool having an adjustable exhaust. The tool has an elongate housing containing a pneumatic motor. The housing has an inlet passage for pressurized air at the rearward end of the housing and air delivery passaging for flow of pressurized air to the motor. A rotary connector on the housing at the inlet passage permits connection to an air hose. The housing also has an air exhaust passage for exhausting air from the motor. An air deflector for exhausting air exiting the exhaust passage is rotatable around the connector for deflecting exhaust air laterally outward in a selected direction away from a user holding the tool.
Abstract: Sensors for determining the presence and concentration of bio-molecules in a biological sample are provided in the form of polymer brushes, which comprise a substrate having a surface that is modified with a water-dispersible or water-soluble polymer segment having functional groups that bind probes. The method of synthesis of such sensors preferably includes use of controlled free radical polymerization techniques, which allows for controlled architecture polymers to modify the surface of the substrate. In this manner functional groups in the polymer chain are removed from the surface, which allows for solution chemistry to be more realistically reproduced with the benefits of a solid bound probe.

Abstract: A system and method for detecting a registration mark representing a binary code sequence of N bits. A sensor is provided to output values indicating whether positive bits, negative bits, or no bits of the binary code sequence are detected. A sequence of N sensor values are provided to a code matching filter for comparison with the binary code sequence. The code matching filter increases a value of a detection signal for each sensor value which matches its corresponding bit, decreases the detection signal value for each sensor value which is complementary to its corresponding bit, and neither increases nor decreases the detection signal value in response to a sensor value indicating detection of no bit of the binary code sequence. When the binary code sequence is a Barker code, the code matching filter yields the ideal Barker auto-correlation function response whenever the binary code sequence is detected.

Abstract: A light weight surveying pole which is of robust and highly accurate construction. A lock for fixing telescoping sections of the pole provides fixed positioning without high initial clamping forces. An air cushion system inhibits damaging the pole sections when they are retracted, but the pole sections can be simply pulled apart without any other required disassembly for cleaning or repair. Fittings for use in screw-together pole sections are constructed to permit location within mating pole sections prior to application of adhesive for greater precision and maintenance of coincident axes of the pole sections when screwed together. Also, the end faces of the fittings are particularly formed to facilitate complete face-to-face contact and avoid misalignment when the fittings are attached. A cover can be attached over a point of the surveying pole when the point it not needed, and the cover can be stowed on the surveying pole when the point is used.
