Abstract: Apparatus for flue gas cleaning comprising a scrubbing chamber, a flue gas feeder, a flue gas discharger, a drain for used scrubbing water and a device for feeding and atomizing the scrubbing water. The scrubbing chamber can be divided into a scrubbing zone, a centrifuging zone and a fan zone, and arranged in the scrubbing chamber is a device which is rotatable about a horizontal axis and which conveys the flue gas and the atomized scrubbing water in helical movements in a horizontal direction through the scrubbing chamber. Preferably, the scrubbing water is circulated, wherein there may be provided a settlement tank for settlement of solid contaminating materials from the used scrubbing water, for energy recovery.
Abstract: A one-piece hybrid tibial tray component of a knee replacement prothesis includes a laterally extending plate having a proximal surface, a distal surface which includes a peripheral surface for receiving bone cement and a central surface which promotes bone ingrowth and a central stem extending from the distal surface and which is perpendicular thereto. The distal surface is adapted to fit against the upper end of a patient's tibia as part of a knee replacement surgical procedure and provides both initial fixation via the cement bonding as well as long term fixation due to bone ingrowth.
Abstract: A foldable apparatus for transporting filled plastic grocery bags in an upright position during transport to alleviate spilling. The foldable apparatus is provided with a foldable platform that folds or pivots in relation to a bag positioning member to configure the apparatus in an open position for receiving and holding filled plastic grocery bags and a closed position to configure the apparatus for storage. Bag retaining ends are provided in the upper section of the bag positioning member to receive and hold the loop handles of plastic grocery bags.
Abstract: A self-kindling fuel package comprising a container with walls and at least one pinched closure with a semi-rigid wick longitudinally folded into the end closure creating an oxygen channel within the end closure, and a method of constructing the self-kindling fuel package.
Abstract: An assembly for the coupling of a multi-duct conduit system for sealing the outer and inner ducts of adjacent conduit sections in end to end relationship. There is provided a primary coupling housing which includes preferably a premolded body portion which is insertible into the outer most housing of a ducted system. The body system in the body portion comprises first and second half body portions. Each first and second half body portion is adapted to receive a plurality of ducts into bores in the body housing so that a first plurality of ducts enters and is insertible into the body portion at a first end and the second adjoining plurality of duct members are insertible into the body portion on the second end, the first and second portions of ducts being slidably engaged into the body portion and meeting substantially at a center point within the body portion, for defining a continuous pathway within the ducts for housing transmission lines therewithin.
