Abstract: An automatically-opening infant mat that is movable between an open position and a closed position includes a water-resistant flexible material sized to have an infant, at least from the infant's head to the infant's buttocks, placed on the material while the mat is in the open position, a cushion coupled to the material to be disposed under a portion of the infant's body while the mat is in the open position and the infant is placed on the material, and a resilient bias member coupled to the material and configured to bias the material to an open position and to be reversibly moved to a closed position.
Abstract: A sun shade for use with and mounting to a side or rear automobile window includes a material comfigured to inhibit sunlight from passing through the material while allowing sufficient light to pass through the material such that a person can see through the material, and a temperature indicator coupled to the material and configured to provide a visible indication of temperature, where the sun shade is configured to attach to the side or rear automobile window.
Abstract: The invention provides a method of delivering ultrasound signals. The method includes providing an image of at least a portion of a subject intended to receive ultrasound signals between sources of the ultrasound signals and a desired region of the subject for receiving focused ultrasound signals, identifying, from the image, physical characteristics of different layers of material between the sources and the desired region, and determining at least one of phase corrections and amplitude corrections for the sources depending on respective thicknesses of portions of each of the layers disposed between each source and the desired region.
Abstract: A temperature indicator for a clothes iron includes a heat-sensitive element configured to be coupled to a clothes iron and configured to be disposed to receive heat from a heating surface of the clothes iron, and a visual indicator coupled to the heat-sensitive element and configured to provide a visual indication of heat received by the heat-sensitive element.
Abstract: A surge protector for portable personal computers, or notebooks, of the shunting type, employs two differently rated metal oxide varistors in a manner enabling operation with several differently rated AC power services the surge protector is designed to provide an optimum effective clamping voltage with a low let-through voltage.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a methodology for the characterization and determination of mixed-field dosimetry for 252Cf Applicator Tube (AT)-type medical sources, utilizing ionization chambers, GM counters, and Monte Carlo methods. Unlike the previous methodologies, the present invention discloses a specification of dose to muscle, rather than dose to water, for clinical dosimetry of 252Cf medical sources. A dosimetry protocol, similar to that utilized for ICRU-45, with parameters determined specifically for 252Cf brachytherapy is disclosed. Neutron isodose distributions and data necessary for clinical implementation of 252Cf AT sources are also disclosed herein. Additionally, novel methods for the encapsulation, storage, and delivery/implantation of 252Cf radionuclide sources are disclosed.
Abstract: A communication bus interface circuit includes a local frame signal generator responsive to a device clock signal and having a local bus frame signal output. A synchronization loss detector is responsive to the local frame signal output and to a bus frame signal input. A clock adjuster is responsive to the synchronization loss detector and to the device clock signal to adjust the local frame signal generator until synchronization between the bus frame signal and the local frame signal is established.
Abstract: An apparatus includes a bracket mountable to a surface and including multiple separated fingers extending at least partially transverse to gravitational pull when the bracket is mounted to the surface. A connector is adapted to be received by at least one of the fingers at multiple locations relative to the bracket such that the connector overlaps the at least one finger relative to the gravitational pull, the connector providing a lip directed at least partially transverse to the gravitational pull when the connector is received by the bracket and the bracket is mounted to the surface. A positioner is adapted to adjustably receive an elongated member and to be coupled to the connector overlying a portion of the lip.
