Abstract: A safety closure cap capable of venting excess pressure within a container is disclosed. The safety closure cap is a unitary device made of a flexible material, constructed to seal a container having an orifice surrounded by an upstanding rim. The safety closure cap is comprised of a disc having a retaining lip; an annular ring which is parallel to the disc and connected thereto by a short annular wall; a pull tab connected to the periphery of the annular ring; a sealing skirt extending outwardly and downwardly from the annular ring which is adapted to substantially overlap the container rim; a venting channel adapted to vent gasses within the container which extends across the periphery of the annular wall from the retaining lip portion to the outer periphery of the annular ring, and two vertical gripping members disposed respectively on upper and lower surfaces of the pull tab.

Abstract: A dispenser for volatilizable materials, such as those used to freshen or deodorize air, comprising a hollow body, rotatably attached to a closure member, and having a support for the volatilizable material contained within the hollow body; said hollow body including a resiliently compressible portion, and a substantially vertical sidewall portion extending from the compressible portion, and an aperture formed in the sidewall portion; and said closure member including an interior portion and a substantially vertical sidewall having an aperture formed therein. When the closure member and the hollow body are attached to each other the sidewall of the closure member overlaps the sidewall portion of the hollow body thereby allowing their respective apertures to be brought in and out of registry to permit air to enter the dispenser and evaporate a portion of the volatilizable material.

Abstract: A snow removal tool having a brush and a handle. The tool can be assembled in a T-shaped mode by locking an end of the handle to the center of the brush. When the brush is not used in the T-shaped mode, the handle is pushed into the hollow tube of the brush and twist locked in a short longitudinal mode. The handle can also be locked in one end of the tube of the brush thereby permitting the handle to act as an extension of the brush when a longer reach is desired.

Abstract: A composition for cleaning a wide variety of hard surfaces in a no rinse mode, comprised of a mixture of organic solvents at least one having a low boiling point and at least one having a relatively higher boiling point, an alkali-metal polyphosphate, fugitive alkaline material, a first surfactant which is a nonionic or anionic surfactant, a second surfactant which is a fluorinated hydrocarbon anionic or nonionic surfactant, and water.

Abstract: A bleaching packet comprising a porous pouch containing a dry granular hypochlorite generating agent for the release of bleach in the aqueous medium of an automatic washing machine several minutes after the beginning of the wash cycle.

Abstract: An implement for sweeping and raking having a base, a handle attached to the base, and bristles extending out of the base. Each bristle has a first portion, one end of which is engaged in the base, and a similar length, second portion bent at an angle to the first portion. The bent angle between the portions of each bristle is between about 100.degree. and 150.degree., whereby the implement operates as a broom when it is pushed away from the user and as a rake when it is pulled towards the user.

Abstract: An aqueous detergent composition containing an enzyme which is stabilized with an alkanolamine and an organic or an inorganic acid.

Abstract: A low-foaming machine dishwashing composition comprising an aqueous thickener, a non-ionic surfactant and water, in the form of a gel having a minimum yield point of at least 1170 is disclosed. The dishwashing composition can additionally contain builders such as sequestering agents, pH control agents, and corrosion inhibitors. The use of such compositions in the form of a gel substantially reduces the loss of a portion of the detergent due to leakage from the dishwasher dispenser cup prior to utilization during the washing cycle.

Abstract: A tile and grout cleaning composition is provided which consists essentially of about 1.5 to 7.0 weight percent of a sequestering agent expressed on a free acid basis; about 1.0 to 3.0 weight percent of an alkaline hydroxide; 1.0 to 4.0 weight percent of 2-heptadecyl-1-carboxymethyl-1-(2-hydroxyethyl)-2-imidazolinium chloride; and the balance is water wherein the composition is capable of existing as a thixotropic gel at room temperature and of forming a water-impermeable outer skin upon application of the composition to the tile or grout surface.

Abstract: A drain cleaning composition is provided consisting essentially of 20 to 60 weight percent of an oxidizing agent, 1 to 30 weight percent of a reducing agent, and from about 20 to 75 weight percent of an alkali metal hydroxide, wherein the composition is capable of producing at least 230 calories of heat per gram upon dissolution in water.

Abstract: A sponge mop comprising a base plate secured to a handle, a squeeze plate rotatably attached to a free edge of the base plate, a sponge affixed to the bottom surface of the squeeze plate, and a sponge wringer rotatably attached to the upper surface of the squeeze plate. Rotation of the sponge wringer against the squeeze plate and towards the base plate causes wringing out of the sponge between the plates. The sponge wringer is rotated essentially 360.degree. so that it is adjacent to the mop handle when the sponge is fully wrung out. When the mop is in the mopping position, the handle can be lowered or raised with respect to the surface being mopped, while the sponge remains flush on that surface, by insertion of tabs on the sponge wringer in selected openings provided in the base plate for different handle orientations.

Abstract: A propellant composition for an aerosol-type container having a dispensing valve, said composition consisting essentially of a gas adsorbed by an adsorbent substrate at superatmospheric pressure in sufficient quantity such that upon actuation of the dispensing valve, said substrate will desorb a portion of the adsorbed gas to permit discharge of the gas portion from the container at a pressure greater than atmospheric, wherein said gas does not contain any halogen atoms in its molecular structure. The composition is particularly suitable for use in an aerosol hydraulic device for use in clearing waste stoppages in a conduit.

Abstract: A swivel connector for attaching a handle to a body which comprises:(a) a pivot member secured to said body;(b) a pin member including first rotational means for rotatably engaging said pivot member to define a first axis of rotation for rotating the pin member about the pivot member; and(c) a socket member having an upper end portion adapted to receive a handle and including at the lower end portion second rotational means for rotatably engaging said pin member to define a second axis of rotation for rotating the socket member about the pin member such that said first and second axis of rotation are substantially perpendicular and intersect each other.
