Abstract: A motorized waterproof fluid dispenser and applicator is disclosed. The device manually dispenses at least one liquid from a filled container through one or more openings in the device's moving applicator surface. The device itself is waterproof, and designed to be used in a shower or bathtub. Pressure applied by a user during fluid application does not appreciably dampen applicator movement. The motor moving the applicator is suspended within the device allowing motion to be transmitted directly to the applicator while motion is only weakly transmitted to the outside of the device held by a user. Removable or disposable pads may be affixed to the applicator surface to present a variety of applicator surfaces or heat. The batteries may be replaced, providing for a long overall lifetime of the device while also providing for its inexpensive manufacture.

Abstract: An apparatus useful in the removal of toxic materials from toxic weapon projectiles has a base, a projectile retaining container and a ram. The projectile retaining container has a projectile retainer opening, a ram opening and a drain opening. The projectile retaining container is adapted to retain a toxic weapon projectile in the projectile retainer opening. The ram is adapted to extend into a toxic weapon projectile disposed within the projectile retaining container to crush the projectile's burster well and to thereby release toxic materials to the drain opening in the projectile retaining container. The ram alternatively includes high pressure water nozzles for breaking up any coagulant particles and for thoroughly rinsing the interior side walls of the toxic weapon projectile.
Abstract: The combination of an electronic fingerprint reader and a second electronic transmission device includes a first portion with a top surface and an electronic transmission device disposed therein and a second portion having a top surface with a width between about 2 inches and about 12 inches and a depth between about 1 inch and about 12 inches. A fingerprint reader is disposed in the top surface of the second portion. The top surface of the second portion is disposed at an angle of between about 0° and about 30° with respect to the horizontal such that the top surface of the second portion slants forwardly from the trailing edge of the second portion towards the leading edge of the second portion. The leading edge of the second portion is disposed at an elevation between about 0 inches and about 4 inches above the trailing edge of the first portion.

Abstract: A reinforced pipe fitting has a body with a cylindrical first section and a cylindrical second section. The first section has a first longitudinal axis and the second section has a second longitudinal axis. The side walls of the first section intersect the side walls of the second section at a crotch point disposed within the plane defined by the first and second longitudinal axes. The first section defines a first section crotch area pipe stop having a proximal portion disposed proximate to the crotch point and a distal portion disposed opposite the proximal portion. The average thickness of the proximal portion disposed 15° to either side of the plane defined by the first and second longitudinal axes is greater by about 15% than the average thickness of the distal portion disposed 15° to either side of the plane defined by the first and second longitudinal axes.
Abstract: A method for labeling biological molecules and synthetic molecules that contain a geminal diol, such as RNA, carbohydrates or glycoproteins, using a periodate sequestering agent is provided. Compositions and kits for use in the labeling method are also provided.
Abstract: A method for making a composite panel, wherein the composite panel has a honeycomb core sandwiched between a pair of facing sheets, includes the steps of (a) coating the interior walls of the cells with a unexpanded thermo-expandable material; (b) bonding a pair of facing sheets to the opposite sides of the honeycomb core; and (c) heating the honeycomb core while the honeycomb core is sandwiched between the pair of facing sheets with sufficient heat to cause the thermo-expandable material to expand and to substantially fill the cells.

Abstract: A mechanized dildo, including a motor driven coaxial plurality of longitudinally spaced drive cams, and corresponding sets of passive cams that operate within an elastic phallic sleeve to locally cyclically expand a girth of the sleeve. Optional vibratory elements are positioned proximate a distal extremity of the sleeve, and in a laterally extending arm that is formed for clitoral stimulation. A battery powered control handle provides multiple operating modes and speeds.
Abstract: IR reflective cementitious systems comprising one or more IR reflective pigments are provided. The cementitious systems of the invention may be in the form of mixtures which increase the total solar reflectivity (TSR or albedo) and the Solar Reflectance Index (SRI) of concrete are provided. The cementitious systems are infrared reflective and may be toppings mixed with water for application to existing concrete surfaces, or dry-shake hardeners for application to freshly-placed plastic concrete. The formulations of the invention utilize one or more of cementitious binder(s), graded aggregates, super-plasticizers, one or more pigments selected for improving infrared reflectivity and color composition, and/or optionally other additives, such as dry redispersible polymers or fillers to provide decorative and LEED compliant, highly durable (sustainable) concrete hardscapes and other decorative concrete.

Abstract: A system for modeling the pelvic anatomy of a person comprises an apparatus and method for using the apparatus. The apparatus includes a support and a sizing assembly. The support comprises a base and upstanding member. The sizing assembly is movable along the upstanding member to various heights. The sizing assembly includes a pubis stop arm with a pubis stop, and a pelvic seat arm. The pelvic seat arm supports a pair of opposed ischial seats. The pubis arm extends generally horizontally from the upstanding member. The pelvic seat arm has a horizontal ledge for receiving a patient's ischial tuberosity and an adjoining vertical wall for receiving a patient's medial aspect of the ischial ramus. The distance between the pubis stop and pelvic seats is adjustable, the distance between the pelvic seats is adjustable, and the relative angle between the vertical arms of the pelvic seat is adjustable to accommodate for different anatomies.
Abstract: A junction is made between a first microfluidic substrate (12) having an elongate component (303) protruding from it and a second microfluidic substrate (22) having a corresponding conduit (261). Each of the substrates has a pair of alignment features, for example planar orthogonal surfaces (13,15; 23,25) or grooves (141,151; 241, 251) in opposite sides of the substrate. The substrates are placed on an alignment jig 6 having location features (63, 65) corresponding to the alignment features. The elongate component can be surrounded by a compressible gasket 40). The substrates are pushed towards each other so that the elongate component enters the conduit and the gasket, if any, is compressed. A fluid-tight junction results so long as the substrates are maintained in the necessary position, either by permanent means, or, if a junction which can be disassembled is needed, by maintaining pressure between the substrates.
