Abstract: A roller skate is provided having a body portion adapted to be attached to the foot of a wearer, and front and rear axles attached to the body portion, the axles having wheels mounted to the ends thereof. At least the front wheels are characterized by an outer cylindrical rolling portion having a plurality of teeth integrally formed on an inwardly facing circumferential surface thereof. A pawl member having first and second ratchet-engaging portions has a cam follower portion and is mounted by a camming member to the body of the skate. The camming member is movable between first, second and third positions. In the first position, the camming member acts through its cam follower portion to elevate the pawl member to a position where it does not engage any of the teeth on the inwardly facing surfaces of the front wheels.
Abstract: A loudspeaker system is provided for installation in a space between a front panel and an enclosed area behind the front panel of a partition such as a wall, ceiling or floor fronting a listening area. Electroacoustical transducers are provided which have a two sided vibratory diaphragm driven by an electrical signal. An enclosure mounts the electroacoustical transducers such that one side of the vibratory diaphragm is in contact with air outside the enclosure, with the enclosure being configured to substantially enclose and define a specific volume of air within the enclosure having a predefined acoustic compliance and which is in contact with the other side of the vibratory diaphragm of the electroacoustical transducers.

Abstract: A method of oxidizing organic compounds in aqueous solutions by using in combination ozone, hydrogen peroxide and ultraviolet radiation is provided.
Abstract: A data gathering system includes a plurality of remote units which are controlled from a central location. Each of the remote units is attached to a television receiver which is generally but not necessarily attached to a cable system. Each of the remote units functions to determine which of several TV modes is in use as well as to store TV channel selector data and data from an optical input device. All this data is stored for later transmission by each of the remote units to a central data collecting point. A video message for a TV viewer, such as a survey, may be transmitted from the central location and stored at the remote units, for later display on the TV receiver associated with the remote units. Substitution of alternate programming information may also be achieved by the central control point on selected of the remote units.

Abstract: A cylindrical, ironless, self-supporting rotor coil for use in an electrical dc-machine is disclosed. The coil is formed by at least one layer of wire, the wire having a conductive core, an insulating layer surrounding that core and an outer layer comprising a supporting material capable of being softened and subsequently solidified to make the coil self-supporting. The outer layer of the wire is at least in part electrically conductive in order to reduce the production of sparks in the commutator of the dc-machine.
