Abstract: The present invention provides a method and a system for generating a block acknowledgment for aggregated MSDUs (A-MSDU) transmitted from a sender to a receiver over a wireless channel. Upon receiving the A-MSDU, the receiver generates a MSDU Block Acknowledgment (MSDU-BA) that includes an acknowledgment for each received MSDU. Based on the MSDU-BA, the sender selectively retransmits only the erroneous MSDU(s) to the receiver.

The third binding has two proximal appendixes and two distal appendixes, which extend on opposite sides of the main body of the third binding.
Abstract: A method and system for providing services in a network including a control point and plural UPnP devices is provided. Surrogates are used to functionally replace the original UPnP device/service functionalities without new hardware or firmware/software updates. The surrogates enable proper operation in UPnP networks where devices that implement surrogates can coexist in the same network with UPnP devices that do not. This allows updating existing device functionalities without requiring new hardware or firmware/software updates.
Abstract: A method and system for analog beamforming in a wireless system is provided. Analog beamforming involves performing an iterative beam acquisition process based on beam search training, determining transmit and receive beamforming vectors including phase weighting coefficients, based on the iterative beam acquisition process. Each iteration includes estimating the receive and transmit beamforming coefficients alternatively, until the receive and transmit beamforming coefficients converge.
Abstract: A method and system for wireless data communication is provided, which involves constructing a data payload containing data, partitioning the data payload into fragments, performing block code encoding on each fragment, wherein at least one fragment is encoded at a different coding gain than another fragment, and transmitting the data payload including encoded fragments over a wireless channel.
Abstract: A method and system for maintaining a connection in a communication network is provided. One implementation involves activating a first network interface for obtaining a first network address for communication over the network; monitoring the network and determining a first lease time for the first network address; activating a second network interface for obtaining a second network address for communication over the network upon approaching end of the lease time, thereby maintaining communication over the network via the second network address; and deactivating the first network interface.

Abstract: A switch device includes a contact member and a plunger that removably connects to the contact member. The contact member creates a first audible feedback sound in response to being placed in a first electrical state. Additionally, a switch device includes a compressible contact member including at least one removable electrical contact portion, and a movable member that removably connects to a center portion of the compressible contact member. The compressible contact member creates a first audible feedback sound in response to being placed in a compressed state by the moveable member and creates a second audible feedback sound in response to being uncompressed.
Abstract: A method and corresponding systems for using remote control to realize standard colors on displays. Two examples of remote controls are provided, one with color sensors and the other with white LEDs. For each example a calibration pattern is displayed which allows a user to calibrate the display color conveniently. For using the remote control with color sensors, an algorithm for the display to adjust the input RGB color, based on the color measurements from the remote control is provided. This allows the display output RGB color so that the display shows the same color as the input RGB signal is sent to standard color display.
Abstract: A retransmission method and system for time-constrained video packet transmission between a sender and a receiver, wherein the retransmission deadline of each packet is individually adjusted based on the actual decoding time deadline at the receiver decoder. Accordingly, variable retransmission deadlines are set corresponding to the decoding and playback time for each data packet which carries compressed video information. As such, both network efficiency and video transmission quality are improved compared to the conventional retransmission approaches.
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and a system for PSMP communication in a wireless communication system such as an IEEE 802.11n WLAN including an AP and multiple STAs. An example of such a PSMP communication involves transmitting a PSMP frame from the AP to the STAs over a wireless channel, detecting if the channel is idle for certain duration, and if the channel is idle for said certain duration, then performing a PSMP recovery process. The PSMP frame includes one or more STA info fields which specify schedules of periods for communication over the wireless channel in a PSMP sequence. In performing a PSMP recovery process, the AP constructs and broadcasts a PSMP recovery frame that allows STAs that missed the original PSMP frame to join the PSMP sequence.
Abstract: A video quality adaptive coding artifact reduction system has a video quality analyzer, an artifact reducer, and a filter strength controller. The video quality analyzer employs input video quality analysis to control artifact reduction. The video quality analyzer accesses the video quality of the decoded video sequence to estimate the input video quality. The filter strength controller globally controls the filter strength of the artifact reducer based on the video quality estimate by the video quality analyzer. For low quality input video, the filter strength controller increases the artifact reduction filter strength to more efficiently reduce the artifact. For high quality input video, the filter strength controller decreases the artifact reduction filter strength to avoid blurring image detail.
Abstract: A method and system for presenting TV channels to a viewer is provided. One or more channel lists are generated based on selection criteria. The channel shuffle scanning is performed by presenting per channel content to a viewer from a channel list, for user viewing within a pre-selected period of time until the viewer picks a channel.

Abstract: A cart stop suitable for use with a lift platform is described. The cart stop has a closed position which allows a cart or other wheeled device to move over it. The cart stop also has an open position which prevents the cart or other wheeled device from rolling off of the lift platform.
Abstract: A MIMO wireless system includes a transmitter having a parser that parses a bit stream into multiple spatial data streams and multiple interleavers corresponding to the multiple spatial data streams, where each interleaver interleaves the bits in the corresponding spatial data stream by performing frequency rotation after an interleaving operation, to increase diversity of the wireless system. The MIMO wireless system also includes a receiver that has deinterleavers that deinterleaves spatial bit streams transmitted by the transmitter.
Abstract: A color quantization or re-quantization method is provided that combines two dimensional halftoning with luminance preserving quantization (LPQ) for better perception results of high precision color video quantization. A combination of LPQ and error diffusion, and a combination of LPQ and spatial dithering, is provided. To combine LPQ and spatial dithering, the spatial dithering is regarded as a two-step processing, a mapping and a simple rounding. To combine LPQ and dithering together, a rounding step is replaced by the LPQ algorithm in the combination. Further a method is provided for post-processing which is applicable to both cases to reduce the color perception for grayscale image.
Abstract: A system and method for managing a group of networked, heterogeneous devices, wherein the group of devices are regarded as a logically single “device”. This method separates the state management aspect from control aspect, such that applications using this method need not manage the devices and data directly, and as a result can interact with a simplified, single ‘device’, or focus on controlling the simplified, single ‘device.
