Abstract: A motor-powered concrete finisher, having a motor and a rotatable circular disc powered by the motor are attached at the end of a counter-balanced extension pole. A handle may be provided at or near the balance point of the extension pole. The motor may be disposed on the rear end of the extension pole, to assist in counterbalancing the weight of the circular disc, hub, front end of the extension pole and other weight on the front end of the extension pole. An angled gear drive on the front end of the extension pole, driven by a shaft extending through the extension pole, has an attachment hub at its end for attachment of the circular disc. The motor may be an internal combustion engine. The concrete finisher may be a weed trimmer having the weed trimmer attachment replaced by a rotatable circular disc.

Abstract: A method is provided wherein at least one established group of details with associated policies is created. Profiles with profile macros are selected and a matrix of fields may be derived from the group(s) and populated. A bulk subset of the matrix may be selected according to search criteria and edits applied to a source dataset selected from the bulk subset to generate a destination dataset, wherein the edits are constrained by the set of associated policies. The invention may be performed over a global electronic network (especially the Internet) in a manner that complies with the effective policies at multiple destination sites.

Abstract: A guided mode resonance (GMR) sensor assembly and system are provided. The GMR sensor includes a waveguide structure configured for operation at or near one or more leaky modes, a receiver for input light from a source of light onto the waveguide structure to cause one or more leaky TE and TM resonant modes and a detector for changes in one or more of the phase, waveshape and/or magnitude of each of a TE resonance and a TM resonance to permit distinguishing between first and second physical states of said waveguide structure or its immediate environment.

Abstract: A temporary sound barrier system is provided, with two support columns, a stiffening structure fixed between the support columns, and at least two sound proofing curtain elements having top and bottom edges attached to the two support columns and over the stiffening structure. The curtain elements preferably at least partially overlap, the overlapping portions of the curtain elements being sufficiently free to move with respect to one another to permit a substantial amount of wind to pass between them, to reduce wind loading and to minimize build up of noxious or flammable gases.
