  • Patent number: 6812448
Abstract: In a solid-state image-sensing device, an electric signal output from a photoelectric conversion circuit 100 is accumulated in a capacitor C1, and then a MOS transistor T5 is turned on so that the voltage integrated by the capacitor C1 is sampled in a MOS transistor T10. Thereafter, the electric charge obtained through amplification performed by the MOS transistor T10 flows into a capacitor C2, which performs integration so that a voltage commensurate with the integral of the amount of incident light appears at the capacitor C2.

  • Patent number: 6809417
Abstract: A power circuitry with a thermionic cooling system is provided. The system includes a voltage regulator and a heat rectifying device to cool the voltage regulator. The heat rectifying device includes a heat collector and a heat barrier, formed between the voltage regulator and the heat collector. An auxiliary voltage generator enables the electrons of the voltage regulator to tunnel onto the heat collector through the heat barrier. The voltage regulator may include a shared substrate and power transistors, generating a regulated voltage. In some embodiments the controller keeps a temperature in a preselected range by controlling the power transistors, the auxiliary voltage generator, and a fan. In some embodiments a load is integrated together with the thermionic cooling system so that the load itself can be cooled by the heat rectifying device.

  • Patent number: 6808043
Abstract: An electric power steering device enabled to surely detect a fault of its motor current detector circuit by avoiding the disturbance by an electrically insulated oxide film formed on the contact surface between the commutator and the brush of the motor. An ignition key is turned on, then the motor applied voltage is increased with time to break the oxide film so that the motor current flows normally. The estimated motor current is then compared with the detected motor current. When the absolute value of the difference between those estimated motor current and detected motor currents is over a predetermined limit value, it is determined that the motor current detection circuit is defective. It is also possible to break the oxide film by integrating each difference between the motor current command value and the detected motor current value, thereby increasing the current control value step by step and increase voltage applied to the motor.

  • Patent number: 6809780
Abstract: A projector, which projects color images using the three liquid crystal panels (41-43) while cooling them by the fans (611-613) for G, R, and B panels, comprises the level calculation unit (711) for finding the intensity levels of the R, G, and B components of image signals, the level calculation unit (721) for finding the voice levels of voice signals, the fan control unit (73) for controlling the numbers of revolutions of the fans (611-613), and the memory (761) for storing the cumulative amount of lighting time of the lamp (21). As the intensity levels get higher, the numbers of revolutions of the fans are increased, and as the cumulative amount of lighting time becomes larger, the numbers of revolutions of the fans are decreased. As a result, unnecessary noises caused by the fans (611-613) can be reduced while the liquid crystal panels (41-43) are properly cooled.
