Abstract: The object of the invention is a device, intended for a multifunctional, hand-held tool machine, for example, an electric combination hammer, for the ON/OFF switching or changeover of individual system functions when changing the processing mode, for example, from “hammer drilling” to “chiseling”. Pursuant to the invention, the changeover device, which is to be actuated by the user, is coupled with a mechanical driving mechanism, by which a bistable switch, comprising two mutually oppositely movable elements, is actuated. In a combination hammer, the invention guarantees that, when the chiseling operation is selected, certain functions of the system, such as a monitoring of the reaction moment, are interrupted or changed over.
Abstract: An image taking apparatus has a solid-state image-sensing device, a shutter for shutting off the light incident on the solid-state image-sensing device, and a zoom optical system. The optical aperture stop of the zoom optical system and the shutter are located both on the optical axis but at different positions. During zooming, while the optical aperture stop moves along the optical axis, the shutter is kept stationary. The zoom optical system has an optical member having an optical power disposed on the image-plane side of the shutter.
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a solid-state image sensing device comprising a plurality of pixels. Each of the pixels comprises (1) a photodiode for generating an electric signal according to an amount of light projected thereto, (2) a converter capable of logarithmically converting the electric signal into a converted electric signal while a first voltage is biased, and (3) a switching element for electrically connecting and disconnecting the photoelectric converting element and the converter. The switching element electrically disconnects the photodiode and the converter while outputting an electric signal for correcting a sensitivity unevenness among the plurality of pixels. The converting element is temporarily biased by a second voltage before taking the image, the second voltage being suitable for discharging an electric charge from the photodiode and being different from the first voltage.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a system for providing a decision support for users for selecting drilling and cutting elements for use in a construction material region, wherein areas of application of aggregate materials for concrete as a factor of the different drilling and cutting resistances of the aggregate materials in the zones are grouped in a geographical information storage medium. In this geographical information storage medium, a reference number is assigned to each of the zones, which represent a drilling and cutting resistance of a specific magnitude. The drilling and cutting elements to be used in an area of application of aggregate materials of specific drilling and cutting resistance are provided with a reference number corresponding to the reference number of the zones.

Abstract: Embodiments of present invention may provide a motor control drive circuit for driving a motor by receiving signals from a digital signal control device. The motor control drive circuit includes a switching unit receiving signals that have undergone pulse width modulation (PWM signals) in the digital signal control device, and converting a switching state based on the input signals; and a controller receiving from the switching unit switching operational signals that vary according to a duty ratio of the PWM signals, receiving digital signals from the digital signal control device, and varying a voltage gain for control of the drive motor. In the motor control drive circuit of one embodiment of the present invention, motor rotation is controlled by the duty ratio of digital signals without the use of a DAC. This allows for the design of an independent digital signal processing device, and enables compatibility with various digital signal processing devices.
Abstract: In an image retrieving apparatus for retrieving a retrieving image in an input image, a color histogram of an image in a retrieving area in the input image is compared with a color histogram of the retrieving image. At first, a candidate area in which the retrieving image can be included is roughly retrieved by rough image retrieving with selecting a larger retrieving area and a rough resolution of gradation of the histograms. Subsequently, an area including an image corresponding to the retrieving image is precisely retrieved by fine image retrieving with a smaller retrieving area and a fine resolution of gradation of the histograms.
Abstract: A capacitive gauge, suitable for measuring a fluid level in a container, includes upper and lower capacitive elements. Also provided is a control unit for calculating the fluid level in the container based on the capacitance of the upper and lower capacitors and a dielectric constant of the fluid in the container. The control unit also includes functionality for determining and storing the dielectric constant of the fluid in the container. The dielectric constant of the fluid is determined by first verifying whether the lower capacitive element is completely submerged based on a comparison of a measured capacitance of the upper capacitor to a reference capacitance of the upper capacitor. If the lower capacitor is verified to be submerged, then the dielectric constant of the fluid is calculated based on a measured capacitance of the lower capacitor.
Abstract: A digital copier has a memory for storage of image data, reads image data and stores the image data in the memory, and prints an image depending on the image data stored in the memory. The digital copier can also register a plurality of jobs. Based on a registered job an image is printed. Then, based on the subsequent job an image is printed. When an image data corresponding to a new job cannot be stored in the memory, the digital copier effects the process for calculation of job execution time, a process of calculating a free memory capacity, and a process of calculating the time required for obtaining a timing at which a free memory space is provided, to display the time at which the image data corresponding to the new job can be stored. Thus, a digital copier can be provided allowing the user to form images efficiently.
Abstract: An apparatus for adding a coloring agent to a material used to manufacture brick includes an extrusion container having an opening defined in the sidewall thereof. A coloring agent supply communicates with the opening for delivery of the coloring agent to the interior of the container as brick making material passes through the container. A storage device stores the coloring agent supply amount data corresponding to a supply amount for each of a plurality of brick types, each of the plurality of brick types having a different appearance. A controller is adapted to control a supply of a coloring agent from said coloring agent supply into said extrusion container in accordance with a selected brick type. A computer can be connected to the controller for data transfer. Accordingly, the computer can be used as an interface between a user and the apparatus.
