  • Patent number: 7800050
Abstract: Pressure spring pieces elastically bias a free-form curved mirror such that the free-form curved mirror is pressed against positioning sections and positioned thereby. Displacement restricting sections are disposed opposite to the pressure spring pieces with respect to the free-form curved mirror in biasing directions of the pressure spring pieces with gaps. The gaps are set such that deformation of the pressure spring pieces remain within an elastic range when the free-form curved mirror moves against biasing forces of the pressure spring pieces to come into contact with the displacement restricting sections.

  • Patent number: 7787063
Abstract: On one side of a liquid crystal layer, a first electrode is provided, and, on the other side of the liquid crystal layer, a second electrode, composed of a plurality of individual electrodes, and a third electrode are provided. The second and third electrodes have holes that are increasingly small away from the liquid crystal layer. When the potential at the third electrode is set equal to or lower than the potential at the second electrode, the liquid crystal layer acts as a convex lens; when the potential at the third electrode is set higher than the potential at the second electrode, the liquid crystal layer acts as a concave lens. The range in which the focal length can be varied depends on the diameters of the holes, and giving the holes of the different electrodes varying diameters helps widen the range. Moreover, conductors can be laid to reach the electrodes at the outer edges thereof so as not to directly face the liquid crystal layer.

  • Patent number: 7773393
Abstract: A switching mode power supply includes a power supply circuit, a feedback circuit, and a switching controller. The power supply circuit includes a main switch coupled to a primary coil of a transformer, and supplies power to a secondary coil of the transformer according to an operation of the main switch. The feedback circuit generates a feedback voltage corresponding to an output voltage provided to the secondary coil of the transformer. The switching controller controls the main switch to turn off according to a sense voltage corresponding to the current flowed by the main switch. In this instance, the switching controller quickly senses the output short phenomenon by using the duty ratio of the main switch and the feedback voltage and shuts down the main switch to protect the circuit.

  • Patent number: 7768802
Abstract: In one embodiment, a switching mode power supply (SMPS) includes a rectifier for generating an input DC voltage from an input AC voltage. A switching transistor, coupled to a primary coil of a transformer, converts the input DC voltage and supplies power to a secondary side of the transformer according to an operation of the switching transistor. A switching controller receives a feedback voltage corresponding to a voltage of the secondary side of the transformer, a sense signal corresponding to current flowing at the switching transistor, and a first signal corresponding to a voltage difference between first and second electrodes of the switching transistor. The switching controller controls the turning on and off of the switching transistor. After the switching transistor is turned off, the switching controller detects and counts a number of times that a voltage level of the first signal and a reference voltage are equal.
