Abstract: Information light modulated and emitted by a modulation element is led to a recording medium through a Fourier transform optical system and an optical path shifter. An interference image is recorded on the recording medium by interference of the information light and reference light. A deflection unit of the optical path shifter has a pair of prisms. Optical path of information light transmitted through the respective prisms are shifted in parallel in a direction perpendicular to an optical axis of the Fourier transform optical system. By rotating the deflection unit around the optical axis, it is possible to shift the optical path of the information light around the optical axis while shifting the optical path in the direction perpendicular to the optical axis. Therefore, it is unnecessary to perform complicated control and it is possible to multiply record an interference image accurately with an information recording apparatus having a simple structure.

A digital certificate is issued to a personal computer that is to newly join a network by the following method. A provisional authentication server issues a first digital certificate that is a provisional certificate of the personal computer. The personal computer enters the first digital certificate and a private key corresponding thereto. The personal computer and a formal authentication server establish a connection for encryption communication based on the first digital certificate. After establishing the connection, the formal authentication server generates a second digital certificate that is a formal digital certificate of the personal computer. Further, an experimental network independent of the network is prepared and participation of a personal computer having the first digital certificate into the experimental network is allowed.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer program products, for changing digital broadcast channels. In one implementation, upon receiving a request for switching to a new channel in a digital broadcast receiving device, the device switches from a power saving mode, in which the device processes time-slices only for the currently selected broadcast channel, to a channel changing mode, in which broadcast data is buffered for more than one broadcast channels in anticipation of channel surfing. In another implementation, the user's perception of the channel change delay is mitigated by displaying channel information about the newly selected channel.

Abstract: In an image blur correction device and an imaging device according to the present invention, a holder for holding an optical component, which is displaced for correcting an image blur, is supported by one or more balls, so as to be freely displaced by sliding on the base, and has a structure to restrict the movement of the holder within a range, which is smaller than a mobile range normally acquired when the ball is assembled, if the ball is omitted in an assembly. Therefore the image blur correction device and the imaging device having this configuration can detect the missing of a ball in an assembly.
