    Abstract: A sensor system utilized with a screen printing press for selectively adjusting a length and relative position of the front and rear ends of a printing stroke to traverse a variably sized and positioned image area being applied to a substrate. The sensor system includes fixed reference sensors mounted on the printing press for detecting the position of the front and rear ends of the printing stroke and indicating a distance along which the carriage travels. The sensor system permits the stroke length and the relative position of the printing stroke proximate the image area to be readily adjusted by varying the position of the carriage and monitoring the stroke length of the printing stroke between the front and rear positions.

    Abstract: A low powered RF receiver for receiving a modulated carrier having a coded transmission so as to remotely control a number of vehicular devices includes an antenna, a preamp stage, mixer, local oscillator, first and second IF bandpass filters, first and second IF amplifiers, a received signal strength indicator/detector circuit, and an adaptive threshold/filter circuitry. The signal strength indicator/detector circuit is interconnected between the first and second IF amplifiers and generates a strength indicator signal which is proportional to the strength of the modulated carrier signal received. The adaptive threshold/filter circuitry is responsive to the strength indicator signal and has a varied threshold reference level for eliminating noise and for converting the strength indicator signal to a logical level. A microcontroller is provided for further signal processing, decoding, and executing the function corresponding to the vehicular device to be controlled.

The distance between the forward ends of the contacts is more than the distance between the forward ends of the stopper and the slide ring but less than the distance between the stopper and the anchoring recess.

    Abstract: A golf swing training device having a pair of unequal length golf club shafts connected end-to-end along a common axis. The shorter length shaft has a golf grip at one end thereof and a simulated plastic golf ball attached to its opposite free end. The longer shaft has a return bend therein adjacent the end thereof connected to the shorter shaft and a simulated or plastic golf ball attached to its opposite free end. The simulated golf ball on the shorter shaft is used to sight on a golf ball or target on the ground before the golfer when he addresses the grounded ball. The golfer then performs the backswing, the downswing and the follow-through in a practice swing during which the simulated golf balls should traverse the two planes desired for the golfer's swing and provide feedback to the golfer relating to his practice swing without contacting the grounded golf ball. The training club is suitable for practicing club swings for both so called "woods" and "irons".

    Abstract: The instrument to be ground is positioned lying on the brackets of a support, with its longitudinal axis horizontal and parallel to the plane of a base plate of the apparatus. A grinding stone, mounted on a carrier arranged in such manner as to be able to slide on the base plate is moved opposite the end of the blade of the instrument while rubbing lightly against the cutting face of this blade, thus acting to grind that face. The inclination of the grinding stone is adjustable according to the configuration of the instrument, a dial clinometer enabling this inclination to be checked and to determine it as a function of indications which will be furnished, to this end, by the manufacturer of the instrument.

The compensating roller may have a roughened surface and is preferably able to rotate in one direction only, but in an alternative construction, a driven guide roller which has a roughened surface is provided and the compensating roller has a smooth surface.

    Abstract: A spring locking device prevents any disconnection of connected female and male connector members of a connector. The locking device includes two pairs of bearings provided on both ends of a mounting flange of one connector member and locking members having support pins rotatably supported in the bearings. Each of the locking members is made of a springy wire and includes two parallel legs having lower ends outwardly bent, and support pins continuous to the lower ends to provide bent corners therebetween. When the locking members are mounted in the bearings, the bent corners are positioned inside of the bearings and in contact with bottoms of the bearings, and the support pins are in contact with semicircular edges of the bearings and extend therefrom out of the bearings on sides opposite to those of the legs. The locking device can prevent the support pins from removing from the bearings in a reliable manner with the aid of the particularly formed locking members without using removal preventing members.

    Abstract: The certain quantity of light energy sufficient to effect lifelessness in each of a particular type of hairs, such as is found in a face, arm or back, is provided to the tip of a hand held probe each time a switch is closed, independent of the duration of the switch closure. This relieves the electrologist from having to manually count times, or the number of pulses of light energy applied to a hair body, to effect lifelessness therein. Such counting has been a major part of the photoepilation procedure, and a burden on the electrologist's faculties. In one embodiment, actuating a foot switch provides a series of timed and spaced pulses of light energy for a period, which is selectable by rotating a wiper of a variable resistor-capacitor circuit. The sum of the energies of the pulses over the selected period equals the certain quantity of light energy. In another embodiment, depressing one of four foot switches provides one of four fixed periods of light pulses.

    Abstract: There is described a photomechanical method for forming pressure sensitive transfer reproductions of multicolor images upon a substrate involving the forming of a base coat protective layer on a substrate, applying one color ink on the base layer and a white ink overlayer on the color ink layer. The surface of the white ink overlayer is powdered and a layer of photoresist composition is applied. The photoresist covered layered substrate is exposed to a light source through an image carrying photographic negative film to harden the photoresist at the imaged areas forming a mask. Nonhardened photoresist composition areas along with their underlying layers are removed using stepwise solvent development steps. The steps are repeated for different colors with the final multicolor image being thoroughly dried and coated with a pressure sensitive adhesive to form the image transfer sheet. Drying between each step of formation is essential.

    Abstract: A magnet support and retainer for post-construction installed interior storm windows formed as a unitary plastic extrusion having a U-shaped pane-receiving portion, a rigid magnet mounting portion and a connecting portion, preferably flexible, formed therebetween. The magnet mounting portion includes an elongate rigid planar strip having a pair of depending edge flanges defining a cavity for tightly receiving a strip magnet of generally rectangular cross-section and an intermediate depending flange including barb portions adapted to be received tightly within a facing groove formed in the magnet. The opposite magnet face is engaged upon a ferromagnetic strip or sash surface for installation of the storm window. Resilience is afforded sufficient to compensate for irregularities in the pane or in the cooperating ferromagnetic surface when the storm window is installed. The magnet is force fitted in the cavity enabling easy assembly.
