  • Patent number: 4931622
Abstract: When an electronic card is inserted into the device, a first reject plate is pressed to elongate first and second coil springs to anchor the card. When no writing or reading ROM and RAM of the card, electric current instantaneously flows through a solenoid to cause a stopper stopping a second reject plate to rotate through a slight angle so as to disengage the stopper from a front end of the second reject plate. As a result, the second reject plate is depressed by the second coil spring. At the same time, a reject arm provided on the second reject plate moves a reject oblique surface of a card latch to move the card latch through a slight angle to lower a card guide, so that the card is pushed by the first coil spring out of the device. In this manner, the card is not pushed out during writing or reading and hence contents of the card are not damaged. A solenoid requires only a force for moving the stopper through a small distance. The small solenoid and a little power are sufficient to operate the device.

  • Patent number: 4922474
Abstract: The chronograph hand (8) mounted on a shaft (7) carries a wheel (11) coaxial to a wheel (13) mounted on the end of a small-seconds shaft (2) extending beyond the frame (1) of the clockwork. A double sliding pinion (16-17), carried by a lever (14), can be brought into a position in which it meshes with the wheels (11 and 13), respectively, that renders them rigid to each other, thus ensuring the driving of the hand (8), or to be disengaged therefrom, that produces the uncoupling of this hand. The shaft (7) is maintained by a flexible bridge (9) of this mechanism which acts axially on the said shaft for pressing resiliently a resetting heart (10) it carries against the bearing (6) supporting the said shaft (7). A friction is thus produced on the shaft (7) which prevents any play of the hand (8). The wheel (11) is freely mounted on the shaft (7) it drives through the intermediary of a friction produced by a cumbered washer (12) owing to which the resetting can be effected without wheel (11) be driven.

  • Patent number: 4861642
Abstract: A foam composite--especially useful as an insulating board--comprising first and second opposed corrugated skins having corrugations with inwardly facing apices, one or each of the skins being provided with a mat of porous or apertured reinforcement material extending across the apices of the corrugations and the foam extending through the pores or apertures of each mat to fill the spaces defined by the inwardly facing surfaces of the corrugations and embed the reinforcement material within the cured foam. As an alternative to a continuous mat, there may be used a plurality of strips of rigid porous or nonporous reinforcement material, spaced apart and extending across the apices of the corrugations, the foam extending through the gaps between the strips to fill the spaces defined by the inwardly facing surfaces of the corrugations and embed the strips of reinforcement material within the foam. The mat or strips reinforce the skin and resist dimensional change due to shrinkage of the foam core during storage.

  • Patent number: 4854247
Abstract: A lock type sealed security device or unit for clamping bills accumulated in vending machine validating or other paper currency accumulating devices. The device is locked onto the accumulating device in a position which allows the currency to be accumulated therein. When the currency is desired to be removed, the device is moved into a clamping position and operated to securely clamp the sheaf of paper currency therein. The security device can be unlocked from the validating device only when the currency is clamped and an unclamped sealed security device can be mounted in its place on the validating device. The security device with the currency clamped therein then is removed to a collection area, where the device is unsealed and the currency is unclamped and removed.

  • Patent number: 4854489
Abstract: A garment hanger is provided comprising a middle section with a hanging member such as a hook mounted thereon and two end sections with means for engaging a garment. At least one of the end sections is arranged for sliding movement relative to the middle section between a retracted position and an extended position. In particular, the end section may be telescopically mounted within the middle section. The end section is urged towards the extended position by an elastomeric band. In one aspect of the invention, the elastomeric band, when in the retracted position of the end section, is longer than the length of overlap between the said end section and the middle section. In another aspect of the invention, the band is trained in a path such that, as it stretches, an increasing proportion of the material of the band extends between the end section and the middle section to urge those sections apart.
