Abstract: A device for converting the energy of water waves or flowing water into electrical or mechanical energy. The device includes a body or collection chamber with a hydro-turbine located opposite the water entrance and, preferably, a water clear out channel flange located beneath the hydro-turbine and at or upstream of the water exhaust from the device. As the water is channeled by wave facing directional blades and a wave leveler through and exits the hydro-turbine or pump, it has free exit into a water void area which is produced by the deep water, with its own flotation apparatus or moorings, or near shore, held by supports secured to the seabed or other structures. The device also exhibits a “tip up, tip down” synchronous motion as wave fronts advance through and passed the device, which increases the efficiency of the device by accelerating the flow of water therethrough.
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for hydrodischarging and hydrocharging substrates and articles to produce enhanced ability to avoid attraction of contaminants or improved capability of removing contaminants from fluids are disclosed. In another form the method involves removal of electric charges or neutralization of charge on or within substrates. Also disclosed are methods of making using electret substrates and articles for removing particulates and mists from fluid streams.
Abstract: A motorized moving target device having a chassis with an attachable animal model is able to travel in a circuitous path, enabling hunters to practice bow hunting at any time.
Abstract: In a scroll fluid machine, an orbiting scroll is eccentrically revolved with respect to a fixed scroll by a driving shaft to compress a gas toward a center. To manufacture the orbiting scroll, a reference bore is formed at the center of orbiting scroll material, and a reference bore is formed at the center of bearing plate material. A dowel pin is inserted in the two reference bores. The orbiting scroll material is combined with the bearing plate material with a bolt and an adhesive.
Abstract: A means of encapsulating the effects of global and or selective color changes into a multidimensional LUT designed to carryout a specific color space transformation to an image is described.
Abstract: A swager for swaging articles, such as marker bands to a medical catheter, comprising an article input mechanism; a radial compression swaging head with a central swaging aperture, the swaging head being aligned and communicatively coupled with the input mechanism to receive an input article from the article input mechanism and to swage the article. The swaging head includes a plurality of swage elements; a rotatable slider plate; a plurality of track rollers; and a closer plate. An input mechanism is aligned and communicatively coupled with the swaging head to assist in delivering an article to the swaging head.
Abstract: A mold, process of using the mold to form a block, and the resultant block are disclosed. The block may of course be connected to other blocks to form stuctures such as walls. The blocks and structures may have curved features for simulating a log structure. The mold and process utilize cemititious material for forming a the block, which has a pair of block members, one of which has a curved outer face. The block members are separated by a central insulation space and connected by rods extending from each block member across the central insulation space. The mold has a body including a pair of block forming cavities. Each cavity has a material ingress-egress opening adapted to receive a block forming composition and to output a block. The block forming cavities are separated a predetermined distance by a space forming central cavity. The mold also has a block ejector movably connected to the body. The ejector has a plate member associated with each cavity, and a handle.
Abstract: A weighing system has at least one weighing platform receiving a moving load to be weighed, the platform includes at least one scale member connected to at least two approach members, and including at least one ramp member connected to at least one of the approach members. An interface is communicatively connected to the scale member. A controller is connected to the interface. And, a power supply is connected to the interface. Also disclosed is a weighing scale having a rigid pad having a top surface for receiving the load and a bottom surface. A plurality of load cells are included, each having at least two top surfaces and at least two bottom surfaces. A top surface of each load cell is connected at a predetermined location to the bottom surface of the pad. A foot member contacts the ground and is connected to a bottom surface of the load cell. Further disclosed is a load cell having a body defined by first and second sides.

Abstract: In a scroll fluid machine, a driving shaft extends axially to allow an orbiting scroll to revolve with respect to a fixed scroll thereby compressing a gas introduced from the outer circumference of the fixed scroll in a compressing chamber formed between the orbiting and fixed scrolls. From one end of the driving shaft, external air is introduced in a cooling hole extending axially of the driving shaft to cool the driving shaft. A cooling fan is rotatably secured at one end of the driving shaft to rotate by the driving shaft to cool the fixed scroll. The cooling fan comprises a base plate having a main fin on one side surface facing the side of the fixed scroll and a plurality of auxiliary fins on the other side surface to prevent cooling-finished air from invading into the cooling hole of the driving shaft.

Abstract: A system and method for tagging individual bales of hay as they are baled and recording information regarding the moisture, weight, preservative applied. Field position, quality and other information available at the time of baling;, all sequenced to the formation of the bale by a timing and positioning device.
Abstract: A heart valve prostheses crimping apparatus and method for deducing the diameter of stents containing heart valve prosthesis. A medical prosthesis catheter loading apparatus, including a crimping assembly for reducing the diameter of a prosthesis; and a catheter clamp for holding a catheter adjacent to the prosthesis. Also disclosed is an apparatus for reducing the diameter of a medical prosthesis, including a base, a crimp head connectable to the base, and an actuation mechanism connected to the base and connectable to the crimp head to actuate the crimp head. Also disclosed is a method of loading a medical prosthesis into a catheter, including the steps of reducing the diameter of a prosthesis from its normal deployed state to a diameter less than that of the lumen of the catheter; holding a catheter adjacent to the reduced diameter prosthesis; and moving the prosthesis into the catheter lumen.
Abstract: An apparatus for folding a catheter balloon comprises a stationary base member; a rotatable drive hub which is moveable in relation to the stationary base member; and a pleating head aligned with respect to the stationary base member and to the rotatable drive hub. The pleating head includes at least three segments, each having a proximal end and an angled distal end with at least one angled side face terminating in an edge of a predetermined length. Each segment has a centerline between the proximal and distal ends, each segment having a proximal point and a distal point, and the proximal point being pivotally coupled by pins to the stationary base member and the distal point being pivotally coupled by pins to the rotatable hub member. The segments are arranged so that the segment distal ends are disposed adjacent to and a predetermined distance away from a central point and defining a central aperture with a spiral-pleat dimension having at least three channels in communication with a central aperture.
