  • Patent number: 6084588
Abstract: Image data is processed consisting of a first data set representing a polarity of moving objects and a second data set derived from two dimensional video frames. Three dimensional video objects are perceived as moving in three dimensional space in response to a trajectory definition. The trajectories of the moving objects is modified in response to the position of the two dimensional video frames. The modification may be affected in response to a matte or key signal derived from the video images, allowing the foreground video image to be combined with three dimensional moving particles.

  • Patent number: 6069043
Abstract: A trenched field effect transistor suitable especially for low voltage power applications provides low leakage blocking capability due to a gate controlled barrier region between the source region and drain region. Forward conduction occurs through an inversion region between the source region and drain region. Blocking is achieved by a gate controlled depletion barrier. Located between the source and drain regions is a fairly lightly doped body region. The gate electrode, located in a trench, extends through the source and body regions and in some cases into the upper portion of the drain region. The dopant type of the polysilicon gate electrode is the same type as that of the body region. The body region is a relatively thin and lightly doped epitaxial layer grown upon a highly doped low resistivity substrate of opposite conductivity type. In the blocking state the epitaxial body region is depleted due to applied drain-source voltage, hence a punch-through type condition occurs vertically.

  • Patent number: 5557113
Abstract: A method and apparatus for generating a surface image of a target. The laser beam of a confocal laser microscope is moved along a scanning pattern on an area of a target. During each scanning pattern, the resulting electronic focus signal of the microscope is sampled at defined positions along the scanning pattern to generate a frame of pixel intensity values. At the end of each scanning pattern, the height of the target is slightly increased. A new frame of pixel intensity values is generated for each height of the target. The pixel intensity values of the frames are compared. The maximum pixel intensity value for each defined position along the scanning pattern is stored to create a single frame representative of the surface image of the target. In an alternate embodiment, the height at which each maximum pixel intensity value was measured is stored in a separate memory.

  • Patent number: 5214608
Abstract: A dual sense amplifier structure and a method are provided in a RAMDAC, to allow the video path to be probed digitally during testing. Each of the two sets of sense amplifiers in the dual sense amplifier structure can be individually enabled to provide the same output data to both a color value register accessible over a data port and the digital-to-analog converters for interface with an analog display. In one embodiment, the sense amplifiers which provide color values to a data port interfaced with the CPU are implemented by simpler circuits than the sense amplifiers which used to provide the color values to the DACs.

  • Patent number: 4961486
Abstract: A retainer plate of a one-way clutch assembly for retaining the one-way clutch assembly in position between a pair of outer and inner rings. The retainer plate is generally ring-shaped and recessed at a plurality of locations at least at one surface, so that when the retainer plate is brought into contact with the outer ring for having the retainer plate fixedly attached to the outer ring, there are formed a plurality of radially extending flow passages between the retainer plate and the outer ring. Therefore, a part of the lubricant supplied through a supply port of the inner ring may pass through these flow channels to be supplied to thrust bearings and/or to a clutch plate assembly which is provided at the outer periphery of the outer ring.
