Abstract: The subject application is directed to a system and method for document processing device status logging. Status data is first received corresponding to operations of an associated document processing device. The received status data is then stored in a suitable storage location. A determination is then made whether a predefined interval occurred. When the interval has occurred, the stored data is deleted or overwritten. When a secondary memory device is received and recognized by the document processing device, the received status data is routed to the secondary memory device, whereupon the status data remains in the storage location until such time as the predefined interval has occurred. When the secondary memory device that was received by the document processing device is not detected or recognized, operations return to awaiting the elapse of the predefined interval or the detection of a recognizable secondary memory device.

Abstract: The subject application is directed to a mobile document processing system and method. A request for a transient address corresponding to mobile document processing operations is first received from an associated user. Upon receipt of the request, a transient address is generated corresponding to the associated user. Transient address data is then generated for routing electronic documents in accordance with a received document processing request. A document processing request is then received corresponding to a request for the performance of processing of at least one electronic document. The at least one electronic document is then routed to an associated document processing device, data storage device, or facsimile device corresponding to the transient address. The associated document processing device, data storage device, or facsimile device then commences a document processing operation according to the received document processing request.

Abstract: There are disclosed methods and systems for verifying a connection between a subscriber station and a network wherein a gateway resides intermediate the subscriber station and the network. A method may include receiving instructions from a remote verification host. In response to the instructions, a tester may be introduced into the connection. The tester may receive an IP address of the subscriber station. The tester may use the IP address to perform at least one connectivity test between the gateway and the network. The tester may generate an output reporting a result of the at least one connectivity test.

Abstract: The subject application is directed to a system and method for simultaneously commencing output of disparately encoded electronic documents. Selection data representative of multiple electronic documents encoded in multiple disparate formats is first received. For example, the electronic documents are capable of being encoded in MICROSOFT OFFICE WORD, MICROSOFT OFFICE EXCEL, ADOBE ACROBAT formats, and the like. Each of the disparate formats is associated with a corresponding software module and then retrieved in accordance with received selection data. Next, the electronic documents are communicated to corresponding software modules, and the document processing device commences a selected document processing operation on each of the electronic documents by a corresponding software module. Each application-specific module is adapted for processing a document processing request for one or more types of documents that are associated with one specific application.

Abstract: A system and method for controlled monitoring of pending document processing operations is provided. Each document processing request received by a document processing device is assigned a job name, which is then encrypted using a random static encryption key, resulting in a job identification. A user then logs onto the document processing device to view pending jobs, which are displayed to the user by only job identification. Those jobs with which the user is associated are then decrypted by the document processing device, allowing the user to view job information including status and file name. The user is thereby also able to modify or delete those pending jobs with which the user is associated. Once the job queue is empty, the random static encryption key is deleted and a new key is generated when a document processing request is received into the empty queue.

First, screen data representing each of a plurality of different user interfaces is stored. Each user interface includes visual representations of a unique subset of controls associated with operation of the associated document processing device. Identification data is then acquired from an associated user. A display is generated representing each of the different user interfaces. Selection data representing a selected user interface as a default user interface is then received. Data associating the default user interface with the identification data is stored. Thereafter, a display is generated of the default user interface upon login of the associated user on the document processing device.
