  • Patent number: 7512932
Abstract: An infrastructure is provided for creating applications for mobile information devices, using a tag-based markup language, MIDML. Applications are defined based on easily manipulated textual tags, without need for writing specific code. The tags are processed to ultimately generate source code files. Initially, the input is parsed. Next, a hierarchical object model of the application is populated with objects. Separate readers read and parse the different tags and accompanying elements. The readers are registered in a descriptor object factory, to be instantiated as required in processing extended MIDML files. The object model enables the capabilities of the system to be easily extended, simply by adding new tags, and readers to the existing factory set. The resulting object model is accessible to a generator that produces the actual output.

  • Patent number: 6396079
Abstract: A thin film semiconductor device having improved operating characteristics and reliability of a thin film transistor formed on a glass substrate. The thin film semiconductor device has a thin film transistor 3 formed on a glass substrate 1 containing alkali metal. The surface of the glass substrate 1 is covered by a buffer layer 2. The thin film transistor 3 formed on this buffer layer 2 has a polycrystalline semiconductor thin film 4 as an active layer. The buffer layer 2 includes at least a silicon nitride film and protects the thin film transistor 3 from contamination by alkali metals such as Na and has a thickness such that it can shield the thin film transistor 3 from an electric field created by localized alkali metal ions (Na+).

  • Patent number: 5823390
Abstract: The invention includes an actuator system for a chemical dispensing apparatus where the chemical dispensing apparatus includes a chemical-containing vessel and a housing. The invention also includes an actuator nozzle having a receiving aperture and a dispensing aperture where the receiving aperture is operatively coupled to the vessel to receive the chemicals contained within the vessel. The dispensing aperture is coupled to the receiving aperture and is also connected to a conveying tube to direct the chemical from the vessel, through the tube and into a chemical receiving receptacle. Also included is a structure for ejecting the chemical from the vessel into the actuator nozzle. The actuator nozzle is slidingly and pivotally mounted in the housing and is configured to slide vertically relative to the housing and is also configured to pivot outwardly relative to the housing to permit reciprocal engagement and disengagement of the vessel while maintaining communication with the conveying tube.
