  • Patent number: 7247013
Abstract: Improved powder compacting apparatus for feeding powder between rollers to form a compressed material with enhanced physical properties including uniformity to facilitate forming tablets and similar items therefrom. Side seals confine the powder between the rollers and can be movable independently from the rollers and optionally independently from one another to enhance even compaction. A housing defines a guide channel with a linear feed and shearing zone immediately prior to the nip zone for smoothing and leveling powder flow. One or more vents are provided for releasing gases generated.

  • Patent number: 7240905
Abstract: A system for sealing a joint gap between structural substrate panels such as walls, ceiling and floors making use of a sealing member including a mounting section fixedly secured to one of the surfaces and a covering member extending outwardly therefrom into contact with the other substrate member. These walls, ceilings and floors can be movable relative to one another and thus the present invention provides a mechanism for sealing the joint gap between the substrates while allowing them to move with respect to one another. This is achieved by fixedly securing the sealing member to one of the substrates and urging it into abutting engagement with respect to the other substrate.

  • Patent number: 7228967
Abstract: The present invention provides a novel means for supporting multiple fragile articles which are often mounted upon a fixed substrate such as a pallet during shipment thereof. These longitudinal supporting members are generally rectangular in cross-section and can be of any length. Each support member includes an upper support surface and a longitudinally extending slot or recess which can form a mounting member, lip or recess therein to facilitate driving and retaining of securement members such as staples, therethrough, into the substrate located therebelow for securement to the substrate while defining a safety zone between the staples and the supported fragile articles for protection thereof. An upper panel of dissimilar material can be laminated over the upper supporting surface of the support member to control the coefficient of friction thereof.

  • Patent number: 7204898
Abstract: A fencing construction made of thermoplastic materials which can be easily assembled utilizing ultrasonic welding and which can include a unique configuration for the ultrasonic welding surfaces which prevents the flow of melted thermoplastic materials outwardly onto the decorative outer surfaces of the various fencing parts. Any excess thermoplastic material is designed to pass inwardly toward the longitudinally extending bore defined in the various fencing construction parts. This concept is particularly useful for attaching capping fence members which are injection molded onto structural fence members which are extruded.

  • Patent number: 7007386
Abstract: A method for mounting a light duty bearing having a groove defined in an outer arcuate surface thereof for receiving a metallic tolerance ring placed therein which includes protruding waves extending radially outwardly from the groove while the main band of the bearing is positioned preferably completely within the groove such that the bearing can be placed into a workpiece aperture to be movably mounted therein in a frictionally resisted manner such as required in light-duty applications where slight restricted movement between the bearing and the mounting aperture of the workpiece is desirable. The bearing assembly can be mounted in the workpiece aperture by exerting axial force against the inner race member or the outer race member to achieve the frictionally resisted mounting therebetween. The groove defined in the outer portion of the bearing is designed to receive and retain the tolerance ring therein during mounting in the workpiece aperture for greatly facilitating mounting.

  • Patent number: 6935163
Abstract: A method for gas pressurizing of parts for leakage detection including an enhanced process for reliably achieving full gas pressurization of the part to a predetermined test pressure value and monitoring for various errors which may occur during pressurization, and after pressure and temperature settling, taking an instantaneous snapshot pressure measurement and calculating two pressure thresholds. A snapshot pressure measurement is compared to a slam threshold value after termination of the slam time period and if pressure remains above the threshold signaling “good” and terminating the test. If the measured pressure reads below the slam threshold during slam test then the slam test terminates and the standard threshold test will then be performed repeatedly over the total test time which will yield a good result unless the pressure goes below the standard threshold during total test time which will then yield a bad part result.
