Abstract: Method and apparatus for storing, transporting and conditioning casting materials, wherein said materials are stored and transported in holding tanks capable of being connected to casting machines and being equipped with extruders having plungers for discharging discrete amounts of the stored material to the casting machines.

Abstract: Combating fungi with substituted amine acid derivatives of the formula ##STR1## in which R.sup.1 represents alkyl, alkenyl, alkinyl, halogenoalkyl, halogenoalkenyl, halogenoalkinyl, cycloalkyl or cycloalkenyl,R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 are identical or different and represent hydrogen, cycloalkyl or alkyl, orR.sup.3 and R.sup.4, together with the carbon atom to which they are bonded, form a cycloalkyl ring, andR.sup.6 represents hydrogen, alkyl, alkenyl, alkinyl, cyanoalkyl, unsubstituted or substituted phenylalkyl, unsubstituted or substituted phenyl or unsubstituted or substituted cycloalkyl, or represents unsubstituted or substituted heterocyclyl or heterocyclylalkyl,orR.sup.5 and R.sup.6, together with the nitrogen atom to which they are bonded, represent a heterocyclyl radical, which can contain further hetero atoms.

Abstract: A downhill skiing/snowboarding/water skiing simulator and exerciser is disclosed, having an adjustable declined platform on which two simulated skis move, supported on rear wheeled trucks, sideways against tension type resistance riding back and forth its curved back track. Simultaneously with the rear movement, the ski tips or simulated snowboard pivot around the reduced lateral travel of the stacked swiveling, lateral moving front ski tip assembly, while the skis move between wedge and parallel positions freely. Independent height adjustments on either side of the back track allow changes from traversing directional simulations prior to the start of an actual stop movement. Outward angled standing bars provide pulling forces for the feel of the centrifugal force of a snow ski turn or water ski/snowboard turn. The forward end of each ski is capable of lateral and longitudinal movement.

Abstract: The invention relates to new 3-aryl-triazine-2,4-diones of the general formula (I) ##STR1## in which Het represents a radical of the formula ##STR2## R.sup.1 represents hydrogen or halogen, R.sup.2 represents halogen, cyano or nitro andR.sup.3 represents a radical of the formula --X--R.sup.6 or --CO--X--R.sup.7, in whichR.sup.4 represents hydrogen, cyano, alkyl, alkenyl, alkinyl or halogenoalkyl,R.sup.5 represents alkyl, alkenyl or alkinyl,R.sup.6 represents hydrogen or optionally substituted alkyl,R.sup.7 represents hydrogen or optionally substituted alkyl,X represents oxygen or sulphur andZ represents oxygen or sulphur, to a process for their preparation, to new intermediates, and to their use as herbicides.

Abstract: The hub and spoked of a steering wheel consist of a synthetic thermoplastic resin and just as the rim are covered with a layer of a deformable plastic. To provide a steering wheel which is light in weight and has a high temperature stability, the hub and spokes consist of a polyamide which has been modified with elastomers and fibers.

Abstract: Renin-inhibiting aminomethyl peptides of the formula ##STR1## in which A is H, an alkyl radical, a sulphonyl radical or an amino-protecting group,B, D, E and F each independently is a direct bond or an amino-organo-carbonyl group,R.sup.1 is an optionally substituted alkyl or aryl radical,R.sup.2 is H, alkyl or acyl,R.sup.3 is H, alkyl, aryl or acyl, andR.sup.4 is alkyl, alkoxy, aryl or amino,and physiologically acceptable salts thereof.

Abstract: In a process of producing composite materials consisting of sheet metal plates, metal strips and foils and provided with a skeleton surface structure, a layer of a metal powder which is difficultly flowable and consists of irregularly shaped particles is applied to a continuously moved metallic carrier layer and is bonded to said carrier layer by cold roll cladding and is sintered in a reducing atmosphere at temperatures of 600.degree. to 1000.degree. C. In order to produce composite materials in which the skeleton structure constitutes a layer that is of uniform thickness throughout the surface and is firmly bonded to the carrier layer, the metal powder is uniformly distributed and applied as regards its bulk volume using a distributing roller, which rotates opposite to the main direction of movement of the carrier layer, whereby a uniform thickness is obtained.

Abstract: The invention relates to novel N-aryl-substituted nitrogen-containing heterocycles, several processes and novel intermediates for their preparation, and their use as herbicides and plant growth regulators.

Abstract: A fungicidal 4-aza-1,10-phenanthroline derivatives of the formula ##STR1## in which R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are identical or different and stand for hydrogen, alkyl, optionally substituted aryl, optionally substituted hetaryl, or together with the carbon atoms to which they are bonded stand for a benzo group,R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 are identical or different and stand for hydrogen or alkyl andR.sup.5 and R.sup.6 individually stand for hydrogen or together with the carbon atoms to which they are bonded stand for a benzo group, with the exception of the compound 4-aza-1,10-phenanthroline,and addition products thereof with acids and metal salts.

Abstract: Fungicidally active substituted benzamides of the formula ##STR1## in which R.sup.1 represents alkoxy, alkenyloxy, alkinyloxy or a heterocyclyl radical,R.sup.2 represents cyano, a carbamoyl radical or a thiocarbamoyl radical,X represents an alkanoyl radical or an alkoximinoalkyl radical, andn represents a number 1, 2 or 3.Intermediates wherein R' is replaced by bromine and R.sup.2 is cyano or a carbamoyl radical are also new.

Abstract: A peptide that causes a suppression in protein synthesis by halting the translation of mRNA into protein, the peptide having a Stokes radius of less than 16 Angstroms, a molecular weight, determined by SDS-PAGE, of 17 kD (indicating that the peptide is a monomer) and an isoelectric point of 7.25. Abstract: The treatment of a filament cable in a device into which it is introduced, in which it is crimped, treated with a gas, and withdrawn, characterized by the fact that the cable is crimped using a crimping device which is operated gas-dynamically, which has been mounted into the front face of a device for the treatment of the cable with a gas, and is thus introduced into this device in the manner of a sluice, and is folded using a slide with an S-shaped section onto a gas-permeable, horizontally transporting base as a crimping cake, is treated there with the gas, and is finally withdrawn from the device.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for the production of N-substituted .alpha.,.beta.-unsaturated carboxylic acid amides, which proceeds from the .alpha.,.beta.-unsaturated carboxylic acid amide that is unsubstituted at the amido nitrogen, which forms the Michael adduct initially by conversion with a polyvalent alcohol having a boiling point of >/=150.degree. C., converts this with a primary or secondary amine with elimination of ammonia to form N-substituted carboxylic acid amide with a protected double bond, the polyvalent alcohol being subsequently eliminated from this product at high temperatures, with formation of the N-substituted .alpha.,.beta.-unsaturated carboxylic acid amide.

Abstract: A construction and method for forming an orthopedic cast and method of producing the construction, wherein a portion of the body is surrounded with a flexible network of non-porous tubing substantially devoid of air and having at least one inlet. A flowable fluid is injected into the tubing through the inlet to render the network substantially rigid and the tubing is releasably retained in place until the network becomes rigid.

Abstract: Ortho-substituted fluoroaromatic compounds are prepared by reaction of corresponding anilines, which are substituted in the o-position, with alkyl nitrites in the presence of alcohols and/or ethers and in the presence of boron trifluoride or boric acid esters and hydrogen fluoride, and by isolation and decomposition of the diazonium tetrafluoborate produced.

Abstract: Acyl cyanides of the formula ##STR1## in which R represents an optionally substituted alkyl group having 1 to 8 carbon atoms, an optionally substituted cycloalkyl group having 3 to 12 carbon atoms or an optionally substituted aryl group, or an optionally substituted 5-membered or 6-membered heterocyclic radical which additionally can be fused to a benzene ring,are obtained in high yields by reacting carboxylic acid anhydrides of the formula R--CO--O--CO--R (II) with trimethylsilyl cyanide, (CH.sub.3).sub.3 Si--CN (III), if appropriate in the presence of a catalyst and, if appropriate, in the presence of a diluent, at a temperature between 50.degree. and 250.degree. C. The acyl cyanides can be used as intermediate products, for example, for the preparation of certain herbicidally active compounds of the triazinone series.

Abstract: There is disclosed a method for producing benzene and other useful compounds in high yields and selectivity which comprises hydro-dealkylating alkyl aromatic hydrocarbons in the presence of hydrogen using a catalyst mainly composed of a zeolite 15 to 20 equivalent % of exchangeable cations of which are exchanged with hydrogen ions. The reaction temperature is preferably 500.degree. to 650.degree. C.
