Patent number: 7246495Abstract: In the gas-turbine engine control system having first and second control channels each inputting the outputs of speed sensors and controlling supply of fuel to the engine based on the inputted outputs, four outputs generated by the sensors are compared with each other to determine whether three of the four outputs are within a range that allows the three to be considered identical, and the three are then compared with a remaining one to determine whether the four outputs are within the range that allows the three to be considered identical to the remaining one, and based thereon, each of the four outputs is determined to be the output that is usable in the fuel supply control. With this, through the three-value comparison and the four-value comparison, when the high-pressure turbine speed sensor or the like is installed by plural numbers, it becomes possible to accurately select the sensor output(s) that is usable in the fuel supply control, thereby improving the control accuracy.Type: GrantFiled: March 28, 2005Date of Patent: July 24, 2007Assignee: Honda Motor Co., Ltd.Inventors: Hironori Muramatsu, Yukinobu Sugitani

Patent number: 7245639Abstract: Due to bandwidth constraints on the wireless link in an IP network, it is useful to compress the headers so as to maximize the utilization of the link. There exists Header Compression algorithms that make use of the similarity in consecutive headers in a packet flow to compress these headers. In this document, a novel header compression scheme was introduced that makes use of the similarity in consecutive flows from or to a given mobile terminal to compress these headers. Using information theory, the optimal gain to be expected from the use of such a scheme was analyzed. A model was defined for the distribution of the connections of a single user over the address space. The compression scheme was evaluated with respect to this model and to actual internet data traces. The scheme is complementary and the benefits are additional to the traditional approach to header compression. However, the scheme outperforms current schemes with respect to actual internet traces.Type: GrantFiled: June 28, 2002Date of Patent: July 17, 2007Assignee: Nokia CorporationInventor: Cedric Westphal

Patent number: 7242943Abstract: The invention relates to a method and system for establishing a first type of connection, wherein a handshake processing is performed with the other party of the first type of connection. If the handshake processing is successful, the first type of connection is established. If the handshake processing is not successful, i.e. the other party does not support the first type of connection, a fallback procedure is started to change the call to a second type of connection determined during the connection establishment. The change to the second type of connection may be performed directly or may be based on a call retry procedure. Thereby, inconvenient disconnections or error processings at the end terminals can be prevented.Type: GrantFiled: October 31, 2001Date of Patent: July 10, 2007Assignee: Nokia CorporationInventor: Juha Rasanen
