  • Patent number: 8109994
Abstract: A stent is fabricated utilizing a polymer that is selected for its tendency to degrade from the surface inwardly rather than undergo bulk erosion so as to substantially reduce the risk of large particles becoming detached and being swept downstream. Such polymer is hydrophobic yet has water-labile linkages interconnecting the monomers. Ester or imide bonds are incorporated in the polymer to render the surface degrading materials suitable for use in stent applications. The stent may be coated with such polymer or may be wholly formed therefrom.

  • Patent number: 8104343
Abstract: The invention relates to measuring devices to be used in the measuring of angular velocity and, more precisely, to vibrating micromechanical sensors of angular velocity. In a sensor of angular velocity according to the invention, a mass is supported to the frame of the sensor component by means of an asymmetrical spring structure (1), (2), (3), (4), (22), (24) in such a way, that the coupling from one mode of motion to another, conveyed by the spring (1), (2), (3), (4), (22), (24), cancels or alleviates the coupling caused by the non-ideality due to the skewness in the springs or in their support. The structure of the sensor of angular velocity according to the invention enables reliable measuring with good performance, particularly in small vibrating micromechanical solutions for sensors of angular velocity.

  • Patent number: 8108057
Abstract: A control system for a plant is provided. A feedback control input is calculated so that a controlled output of the plant coincides with a target value. The feedback control input is averaged to calculate an averaged feedback control input. A hold control input is calculated according to an operating condition of the plant. A corrected hold control input is calculated by combining the hold control input with the averaged feedback control input according to a preset ratio. A control input to the plant is set to the feedback control input in a first state where a control deviation between the controlled output and the target value is greater than a predetermined threshold value, and setting the control input to the corrected hold control input in a second state where the control deviation is equal to or less than the predetermined threshold value. The feedback control input is made to gradually approach to or coincide with the corrected hold control input in the second state.
