  • Patent number: 8172111
Abstract: The liquid capture device has a horizontal support resting upon a support surface having a front edge in close proximity to the edge of a table. A vertical support member has a second connecting top edge. The first and second connecting devices are complementary to each other. On the lower portion of the vertical support member is a liquid receiving means. The liquid receiving means is located under a spigot so any dripping liquid is captured. The liquid receiving means may also include a corrugated floor. In one embodiment, the vertical support member can be removed from the horizontal support member to empty excess liquid. The connecting means may be a hooking member over a pin; or a magnet. In another embodiment, the connecting means may be a hinge and pin or a flexible hinge. This allows the vertical member to rotate for liquid to flow out through an exit.

  • Patent number: 8122978
Abstract: The invention is a drilling device for providing a conically shaped cavity in materials primarily used for anchoring systems. The drilling device is comprised of a solid shank for attachment to a drill, a reverse thread section, and a cutting head. The cutting head includes a cutting tip, clean out flutes, extendable cutting blades mounted within an internal chamber of cutting head body, and means for extending the cutting blades. The extendable cutting blades project from the cutting head body radially when the reverse thread section is driven into the internal chamber of the cutting head. The reverse thread section interacts with the means for extending the cutting blades. This may include a pair of cams that are spring biased outwardly. The cams push against the backsides of the extendable cutting blades for driving them from the cutting head body when the drill device is counter rotated.

  • Patent number: 8038216
Abstract: The portable seat is positioned on the two seat rail tubes of a standard wheelchair with brackets. The seat has a lower frame and an upper frame having four pivoted legs slidably mounted in channels. A horizontal arm connects the two front legs at the lower part thereof and has a pivoting and threaded drive nut. Another horizontal arm connects the two rear legs at the lower part thereof and has a pivoting and threaded drive nut, being oppositely threaded. A drive screw is mounted to both drive nuts and when rotated the legs are pushed together to raise the seat thereon. As an additional feature, a tilt seat section may be attached to the upper frame causing the seat to tilt forward allowing the user too more easily dismount. This feature may be activated when the seat is or is not elevated. Appropriate electronics operates the portable seat.

  • Patent number: 8028684
Abstract: A throwing device has a head for holding an object to be thrown on its distal end. Located near to the head is a catapulting mechanism that is used to further the distance. The catapulting mechanism comprises one or more catapulting devices. A plurality of these catapulting devices may be included thereon, and the flexibility of the spring-like member may be varied as required or desired. During the swing, the weight of the tennis ball and the head cause the spring-like member(s) to rearwardly flex. The user determines when to slow the swing of the head which causes one or more of the catapult devices to decelerate the head with the tennis ball therein wherein a hammer of the catapult device hits a stop and thereby transfers a significant degree of kinetic energy into the motion of the released ball to obtain the greater distance.

  • Patent number: 7594698
Abstract: The present invention is an improved seat to be attached to standard wheelchairs and scooters with or without the original seat thereon. It further may be used as a standalone seat in regular chairs where additional assistance is needed to elevate and/or tilt the seat. In the preferred embodiment, a portable inflatable seat is positioned to the two seat rail tubes with brackets. Upon the top of a lower frame is stack mounted a plurality of box-like inflatable seat bags. An air pump unit with battery is removably attached to the back of the wheelchair. A control unit is also removably to the wheelchair and a control box is attached to the armrest and to the control unit. When turned on, the air pump unit will inflate the seat bags. The user will be elevated to a height of about 6 inches or so. As an additional feature, a tilt seat bag is attached to the top of the highest inflatable seat bag. Its inflation will cause the seat to tilt forward allowing the user to more easily dismount.
