  • Patent number: 5421806
Abstract: Method for separating materials of different specific gravities using a centrifugal separator of the type comprising a bowl having a base and a peripheral wall surrounding a vertical axis about which the bowl rotates and a jacket having a base plate under the base of the bowl and a sleeve surrounding the peripheral wall includes a central bottom discharge for the concentrate. The bowl is mounted on the shaft with a hub connecting the shaft to the base plate of the jacket. Water is supplied through the shaft and into the area of the base of the bowl. Tubular discharge ducts extend from holes in the base plate across the space under the bowl to the base of the bowl. These remain open during processing of feed materials supplied to the bowl through a vertical tube feeding onto an imperforate plate carried by the bowl above the tubular ducts, and allow the concentrate washed down from the wall of the bowl to discharge when the feed and the centrifugal action of the bowl are halted.

  • Patent number: 5193815
Abstract: A bingo card for playing at an instant bingo game comprises a first area in which bingo numbers are printed and covered by an opaque layer which can be scratched away to individually reveal each bingo number in turn. The card further includes four separate bingo playing areas each of which is in the form of a bingo card with the numbers printed thereon in conventional manner. On top of each of the second playing areas is applied a translucent coat of a scratchable material which is pigmented so as to modify the appearance of the underlying color of the area. The playing area can therefore be marked in relation to those numbers appearing on the first area simply by scratching away the translucent layer to provide a visual distinction. The game card is simple and effective and requires printing of the playing numbers only once as they can be viewed through the translucent layer.

  • Patent number: 5191942
Abstract: An agricultural frame particularly for transporting active harrow elements and packer elements comprises a central frame section and a pair of wing frames projecting outwardly to the side of the central frame section at right angles thereto. The whole of the frame can be raised and lowered to lift the ground working implements from the ground. Each of the wing frames is rigid and is formed from a front beam and a rear beam interconnected by inclined beams carrying the active harrow elements. Each wing frame includes a steerable wheel at the outside end. Each wing frame is attached to the central frame by a rear pivot member which allows pivotal movement about a forward horizontal axis and also pivotal movement about a vertical axis for movement to the transport position. A latch is provided adjacent the front beam of the wing frame and is defined by a horizontal pin the axis of which defines the horizontal axis of pivotal movement of the wing frame.

  • Patent number: 4961670
Abstract: A septic tank is formed from a plurality of tank modules each of which comprises a substantially closed container. Each tank module is bolted to a next adjacent tank module at a flat end wall thereof with the bolts being of large diameter and in some cases including a central longitudinally extending opening so that the bolts act to communicate fluid from one tank module to the next adjacent tank module. Each tank module is shaped with an upper wall part which is of parabolic arch shape and a base wall which is substantially flat. This defines the optimum shape for strength to accommodate the forces when the tank is buried. Tanks can thus be formed in modular parts so that various different size modules can be connected together by the above coupling technique to form a multitude of different sizes of tank.

  • Patent number: 4911140
Abstract: A pack stove comprises a rectangular stove body formed by upper and lower stove portions each having a flat rectangular base and three upstanding side walls. The sidewalls of the upper stove portion have a plurality of tabs on the inner surface each defining a slot with the inner surface of the sidewall so that the upper edges of the sidewalls of the lower portion are seated within the slots to hold the stove portion apart. A front plate carries the loading door and a controlled air inlet and is attached to fill the open fourth side of the stove container by flanges around the periphery of the front portion. The legs of the stove are seated within sleeve members welded into the interior of the underside. The stove can be collapsed into one or two separate containers for transporting equipment. The stove construction is rugged and resistance to damage in vigorous handling.

  • Patent number: 4516492
Abstract: A bale discharge chute normally is provided with a pair of spaced and parallel sides, a lower member and a movable upper pressure plate having links connecting the distal ends. The present invention includes a transverse anchor member for the upper connection of the links together with an adjustable compression spring reacting between the member and the pressure plate thus giving superior pressure plate control and preventing damage from occurring to the structure due to excessive tension yet at the time will permit upward movement of the pressure plate if a predetermined pressure is exceeded.
