Abstract: The invention pertains to a protective head covering having a protective impact absorbing pad located therein. The head covering is constructed from a unitary piece of material which initially lies flat. The flat piece of material has first and second edges and third and fourth edges and two side edges. The first and the second edges are forming substantially semi-circles and when sewn together, they form a hollow head contacting portion. Thereafter, the head portion is inverted into the crown portion.
