  • Patent number: 5234400
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for centrifugally separating and classifying a liquid slurry into a solids heavy phase and a light phase fraction with a rotary mounted centrifugal drum having a cylindrical section extending from a first end and completed by a conical section extending toward a second end, a rotary auger within the drum moving slurry from the first to the second end, a slurry inlet at the first end; outlet nozzles extending at an oblique angle opposite the rotational direction of the drum in the cylindrical section for discharge of the heavy phase material, and light phase openings at the second end in the conical section close to the drum axis.

  • Patent number: 5200703
Abstract: An anti-interference filter for radio-shielding a feeder to a gradient coil in a nuclear magnetic resonance imaging apparatus is constructed as a band elimination (band rejection) filter for the operating frequency of the nuclear magnetic resonance imaging apparatus. The anti-interference filter can be in the form of a directionally symmetrical quadrupole having two input terminals and two output terminals. A first input terminal and a first output terminal are introducible into the feeder to the gradient coil, and a second input terminal and a second output terminal are connected to a conductor at reference potential. A number of blocking circuits are arranged in series between the first input terminal and the first output terminal. A number acceptor circuits are arranged between the input terminals, between the junctions of the blocking circuits and the reference potential conductor, and between the output terminals. The number of acceptor circuits is one more than the number of blocking circuits.

  • Patent number: 5144512
Abstract: A magnetic recording disk comprising at least a magnetic layer on a circular rigid substrate with a physically abraded surface having a uniform series of physical circumferential texturing, wherein the relationship between the value Rv from the diametrical arithmetic-average center line to the deepest valley and the value Rp from such center line to the highest peak is selectively determined as Rp/Rv.gtoreq.0.6 so that the CSS durability is enhanced.

  • Patent number: 5066924
Abstract: A pulse amplifier has a driver stage and a following splitter/combiner stage for power division onto two output stages connected in parallel as well as a further splitter/combiner stage that combines the output signals of the output stages. The two splitter/combiner stages each comprise a respective further decoupled port each of which is respectively connected to a switch-over device. The further ports are connected to terminating impedances in a first switch position of the switch-over devices and are connected to one another via an additional signal path in a second switch position and the output stages can be respectively terminated with low impedances at their input sides and output sides via switch elements.

  • Patent number: 4799096
Abstract: Monolithically-integrated circuits comprise at least two circuit branches parallel to one another which respectively contain one or more field effect transistors. In order to reduce open errors in the transistor leads, the connecting regions of the field effect transistors are constructed such that they form strip-shaped connecting zones which are interrupted only by the channel regions of the field effect transistors and which are otherwise self-contained.

  • Patent number: 4782754
Abstract: The monitoring of the ink supply in an ink reservoir occurs by measurement and evaluation of the change in resistance between two electrodes situated in the inside of the ink reservoir, the one electrode being formed by the hollow needle which produces a flow connection between the ink reservoir and ink supply system; the second electrode is formed as a needle and is situated in a wall of the reservoir and is arranged in an insulating ring which is formed by walls of the ink reservoir which are drawn up toward the inside.

  • Patent number: 4541225
Abstract: A machine for automatically wrapping in stretch plastic film a shallow tray filled with irregularly shaped contents comprises, in sequence of operation, a horizontally directed feed table means by which articles to be wrapped are fed into the machine, a film feed station, a girth wrapping station, a side wrapping station, and a discharge or delivery conveyor for conducting a fully wrapped and sealed article out of the machine. The machine is capable of operating continuously, handling a consecutive seriatim flow of articles therethrough. The film feed station comprises a vertically reciprocable film clamp and support arm for raising a sheet of stretch film transversely across the travel path of the article to be wrapped. The article passes through the curtain of film and into the girth wrapping station, causing the lower edge of the film to be folded beneath the bottom of the article tray.
