  • Patent number: 7328184
Abstract: A financial instrument, exchange, and method based upon the volatility in the price of an underlying. Such volatility contracts have a creation date, a term expiring at an expiration date, and a settlement price at the expiration date defined as “Svol”, under the formula: Svol?f{Rt1,Rt2,Rt3, . . . , Rtn}, wherein: Svol?0, n>1, t=each of a series of observation points from 1 to “n”; Rt=return of the underlying based upon each of the observation points in time “tn”; and n=total number of observations within the term. The term is selected from the group consisting of days, months, quarters and years. The settlement price is annualized based upon an approximate total number of periods in a calendar year. Rt is selected from the group consisting of: R t = ln ? ( M t M t - 1 ) ? ? and ? R t = ( M t - M t - 1 M t - 1 ) wherein: Mt=mark-to-market price at time “t”; and Mt?1=mark-to-market price at the time immediately prior to time “t”, at time “t?1”.

  • Patent number: 7211279
Abstract: A method for creating a coffee drink that having the addition of a nutraceutical additive composition of milk thistle; chromium picolinate, and carnitine. Milk thistle is present from about 50 to 99.7 parts by weight of the total composition, and preferably 50 to 60 parts by weight. Chromium picolinate is present from about 0.01 to 0.23 parts by weight of the composition and preferably from 0.01 to 0.1 parts by weight. Carnitine is present from about 0 to 50 parts by weight of the total composition, and preferably 40 to 50 parts by weight. The coffee drink can be created by an admixture of the composition with ground beans, sprayed and/or coated on the bean prior to grinding, or added to a brewed much the same as one would add sugar or other known flavor additives. The instant composition does not subtract from the flavor and improves human physiology by assisting in weight loss, body cleansing, weight loss, fat burning, and sugar regulation.

  • Patent number: 6976342
Abstract: An interlocking rectangular sheet of simulated shakes for lock-up assembly upon a structure in an upwardly directed fashion having a thermo-formed base sheet with an exposure surface and a top and bottom surface. The bottom surface terminates in a cross-sectionally “U” shaped, clipping member. The top surface has a plurality of punched key portions, certain of which having apertured, flanged, assemblies thereon. All of the key portions allow for receiving securing members for attachment of the sheet to the structure, including the flanged portions. The apertured, flanged assemblies and the clipping members cooperate positively to interconnect in the upwardly directed fashion to provide, when secured to the structure by the securing members, a substantial inability to be removed or displaced by weather conditions. The flanged assemblies have an extended “S” shaped configuration.

  • Patent number: 6741976
Abstract: A method and system for the analysis of biological, medical and/or biochemical data having values for each of a plurality of attributes, having a receiving portion for receiving the data and entering it into a storage arrangement like a relational database in accordance with the values and attributes of the data; a calculating portion for determining discrete bins for at least one of the attributes for the data in accordance with the values of the data entered in the storage arrangement; a re-organizing portion for re-organizing the data in the storage arrangement in accordance with the discrete bins; a data mining portion for mining the organized data in the storage arrangement to determine sets of applicable logical rules; and a processing and presenting portion for logical rules or groups of logical rules. The processing portion further involves the application of at least one operator to create a subset of rules in an iterative manner.

  • Patent number: 6578761
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for a credit card holder to issue satellite debit cards out of his pre-established credit card, without the need for prior approval by his credit card company. The satellite card could be issued to himself or to any other party, and the information regarding this satellite card would be electronically transmitted to the recipient of the card. The recipient would then utilize this information to print out a unique Satellite Card, which can be accepted by merchants for purchases or for obtaining cash.

  • Patent number: 6575807
Abstract: A compressible figure form which includes an air permeable skin and a compressible resilient foam core, wherein the compressible resilient foam core includes resilient mechanical means within a cavity within said core. The resilient mechanical means is comprised of a material or configuration of material which is both more resistant to compression than the foam core and more resilient to expansion than the foam core. Thus, the compressible figure can be readily compacted by compression thereof into a compact form. Unlike traditional compressible figure forms, the release of the compressive forces thereon results in a rapid and unexpected expansion of the mechanical means within the figure, and thereby the full extension of the figure form.
