Abstract: A built in current sensor circuit (BICS) for use in integrated circuit testing utilizing the Quiescent Power Supply testing technique comprised of a detecting transistor, an s-ram cell and a buffer cell electrically coupled in a cascaded configuration to perform a comparator function, a reference source comprised of a current generating transistor and a voltage level setting transistor, and an active output load comprised of a single p-MOSFET sized to draw a unique amount of current when a respective circuit under test is determined to be defective., whereby the additional current drawn by the active output load is readily observable on the bias line by an external standard off-the-shelf current monitor. The built in current sensor circuit thereby alleviates the excessive use of area overhead in deep submicron integrated circuits and the need for separately propagating a defect signal to an output pin.
Abstract: A dual (or multi) sectional evaporator system comprising first and second (or more) evaporator sections capable of cooling the air supply through the evaporator. The first evaporator section is positioned upstream of the second evaporator section (second upstream of the third and so on). However, the warmest refrigerant passes through the first evaporator section and the coldest refrigerant passes through the second evaporator section (or last evaporator section if more than two sections), such that the air supply is precooled prior to reaching the second (or last) evaporator. Providing a two (or more) passes of refrigerant through the dual (or multi) sectional evaporator system increases the superheat temperature out of the first evaporator up to about 25 degrees Fahrenheit, and/or increases the mass flow of refrigerant because of the increased heat exchange efficiency provided by counterflow heat exchange.
Abstract: A novel graphical user interface for test device applications which permits simultaneous display of system status and alarm information while supporting graphically based test device I/O and configuration. The present invention also includes a novel graphical representation I/O scheme whereby test device configuration is accomplished through intuitive manipulation of an image of the test device. The present invention also includes embedded menuing features and a "one button down" user input section which facilitates ease of operation of the system. The present invention may be advantageously applied to a test device designed to extract and process telecommunications signals such as DS1, DS3, SONET, and ATM communication protocols.
Abstract: A portable seat assembly for removable attachment to a trunk latch of a vehicle, having a bumper comprising in combination a seat portion having an upper surface and a lower surface, a support connected to the seat portion allowing the seat portion to rest on the bumper of the vehicle in a horizontal orientation, and a hook for connecting the seat portion to the trunk latch of the vehicle.
Abstract: An apparatus and method for the purification of contaminated water whereby the contamination level of the wastewater is automatically monitored and treatment self-adjusted and continued until the desired level of purification is reached. Specifically, if upon treatment a pre-set purification level is not obtained a water recycle control means completely precludes the uptake of additional contaminated water and recycles wastewater within the apparatus until the desired level of purification is obtained.

Abstract: First, a system for providing liquid refrigerant subcooling, subsequent to that subcooling accomplished by the primary condenser of an air conditioner or heat pump, by means of evaporative cooling utilizing the condensate water of said air conditioner or heat pump system and/or some other water supply to wet the surface of the subcool heat exchanger and then passing the cold, dry building exhaust air required for good indoor air quality across the wetted surface of the subcool heat exchanger. Said exhaust air could be used after first undergoing a sensible heat exchange with the incoming make up air. Said subcooling providing for an increased refrigeration capacity, and efficiency of the system.
Abstract: A process for forming an electronic component carrier, the electronic carrier having routing layers parallel to an aluminum substrate and vias perpendicular to the aluminum substrate, the process comprising defining routing layers by forming a blocking mask on the aluminum substrate, the blocking mask leaving exposed areas corresponding to the routing layers, carrying out a barrier anodization process on the aluminum substrate to form a surface barrier oxide over the routing layers, removing the blocking mask, providing an upper aluminum layer over the aluminum substrate, defining vias by forming a blocking mask on the upper aluminum layer, the blocking mask covering areas corresponding to the vias, and subjecting both the aluminum substrate and the upper aluminum layer to porous anodization. The barrier oxide defining the routing layer provides reliable masking of the routing layer during porous anodization.
Abstract: A reverse switch cover assembly for a ceiling fan, comprising in combination a ceiling fan canopy with a rounded housing, a hole in the housing for mounting a reverse switch, a pair of mounting screws, a cover having a center portion and side portions of sufficient width and length for concealing the reverse switch and the heads of the mounting screws and having an arcuate inside surface to adapt to the rounded housing of the ceiling fan canopy, and the cover being secured relative to the reverse switch.
Abstract: An apparatus and method for substantially reducing zero sequence harmonic currents at the load-end of branch circuits that supply single-phase, non-linear loads. The invention includes a three-phase, six-terminal, zig-zag autotransformer which functions as the zero sequence filter. The first winding, which is located on the first core leg, is connected in series with the sixth winding, which is located on the third core leg. The third winding, which is located on the second core leg, is connected in series with the second winding, which is located on the first core leg. The fifth winding, which is located on the third core leg, is connected in series with the forth winding, which is located on the second core leg. In this configuration, the first winding is magnetically coupled to the second winding, the third winding is magnetically coupled to the forth winding and the fifth winding is magnetically coupled to the sixth winding.
Abstract: Method is provided for forming CVD nano diamond films for use as cold cathodes in microelectronic devices. Conditions for forming the film outside the plasma region between the cathode and a grid anode are disclosed. Heating of the grid anode makes possible a combination of glow discharge and hot filament deposition.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for treating and reusing the wastewater discharged from agricultural animal farms. The apparatus and method of the present invention is designed to be a zero discharge system in which no wastewater will be discharged or spray irrigated. The wastewater effluent is first passed through a mechanical screen were bulk solids are separated and partially de-watered. The screened effluent is then directed to a primary plastic-lined earthen lagoon where it undergoes aerobic digestion utilizing specially selected bacteria. After treatment in the primary lagoon, the wastewater effluent is used to wash the floors of the hog houses or undergoes a purification phase including solids separation/denitrification, filtration and sterilization. The solids separation/denitrification phase (clarification) preferably takes place in an anoxic environment in preferably above-ground tanks where suspended solids removal will occur as well as denitrification for nitrate reduction.

Abstract: A drive mechanism for a bicycle comprising a pump unit driven by the rotation of the bicycle pedals, a hydraulic motor driven by the pump unit, a conduit system creating a closed hydraulic system for circulating hydraulic fluid between the pump unit and the hydraulic motor, and a pressure regulator for controlling the flow of hydraulic fluid from the pump unit to the hydraulic motor and thereby controlling the speed at which the bicycle is propelled. The pump unit has a first gear assembly having teeth with a face width w.sub.1 and a whole depth d.sub.1 and the hydraulic motor has a second gear assembly having teeth with a face width w.sub.2 and a whole depth d.sub.2. The teeth upon the respective gear assemblies mesh together to form inter-tooth pockets which facilitates hydraulic fluid transfer about the closed hydraulic system. The rotary motion relationship between the first and second gear assemblies of the present invention, as defined by their respective teeth, may vary from approximately 2.
Abstract: A magnetic core for a hybrid non-contact current meter having a magnetic core that is adapted for encircling a current carrying conductor wherein the magnetic core includes a first portion having a first integral toroidal section and a first pair of opposing side walls extending therefrom, a second portion having a second integral toroidal section and a second pair of opposing side walls extending therefrom such that the first portion and second portion are coupled together so to define an aperture between the first and second pairs of opposing side walls. The first and second integral toroidal sections are designed so to be void of any discontinuities within the flow path of the magnetic flux and to have a circular shape so to promote a more thorough flux saturation whereby a reduction of zero errors results and more accurate current measurement are obtained.
