  • Patent number: 6544387
Abstract: A multi-layer headbox for a paper or board machine including stock inlet headers each providing one stock and coupled to a tube bank which in turn is coupled to a respective intermediate chamber. The stock flows from the intermediate chambers into a turbulence generator and through pipes in the turbulence generator into a slice cone to be discharged therefrom onto a forming wire. The multi-layer headbox includes distribution valves for regulating the flow of dilution water across the width of the headbox. Each distribution valve communicates with a distribution plate placed in connection with the tube bank. From each valve, the dilution liquid is distributed at the same time to all the stocks that form the different layers of the web in the multi-layer headbox at a specific position of width of the multi-layer headbox.

  • Patent number: 6545458
Abstract: A low-temperature test equipment capable of monitoring a test under vacuum and low temperature or ultra-low temperature conditions. The test equipment includes plural CCD cameras so arranged that plane positions thereof are rendered different from each other, as well as a prism mechanism constructed and arranged so as to permit any of the cameras to photograph a surface of a semiconductor wafer and/or a range of at least a part of probe needles of a prober. This permits a test for the wafer by the prober under vacuum and low temperature or ultra-low temperature conditions to be monitored. Also, it facilitates positional registration between the probe needles and the wafer and ensures an increase in accuracy of the test. In addition, when the low-temperature test equipment is configured so as to carry out the test in a continuous manner, full automation of the test may be realized.

  • Patent number: 6536704
Abstract: In the method for controlling the structure of a reel, a continuous paper web (W) is reeled around a reel spool (2) to form a reel (R), and one or more variables are measured from the web (W). When a particular, predetermined change occurs in the variable, the lateral oscillation of the web is changed, by means of which the web is guided to different locations in the reel (R) in the axial direction of the reel spool (2). The change can be implemented by starting the oscillation or by changing the oscillation in progress. The change can be implemented on the basis of the changes in the transverse profile of the web (W).
