  • Patent number: 7146163
Abstract: A Sender-Address-Based Telecommunications Operator Call-back System and Method is disclosed. Unlike the prior systems, the present invention eliminates the use of a direct inward dialing telephone number. The system recognizes a triggering email or SMS message and associates the message to a particular authorized user. Once authorized, the system places a call to the caller and then places a call to the called person. The triggering email or SMS message only requires minimal special formatting, such as containing the sender's registered email address in the “from” field and the called number in the “subject” field. The system may permit third party persons to be authorized to make collect calls to the account holder on the account holder's account. The system may further provide the user with periodic account balance updates both manually and automatically as calls are being made.

  • Patent number: 7136924
Abstract: A Method and System for Parallel Operation and Control of Legacy Computer Clusters is disclosed. Also disclosed is a system that permits the creation of a cluster computer using the legacy operating systems already existing on the computing devices. The system is further be able to seamlessly operate over a standard wide are network, such as the “Internet,” as well as over local area networks. The system further permits the individual computers to operate either as part of the cluster, or on local operations, without any need for modification to the other computers involved in the cluster. Still further, the system utilizes standard TCP/IP format for all internodal messaging. Finally, the system maintains performance “grades” for each cluster node, either by node self-grading, or by node reporting, such that the user can select which nodes to participate in a particular parallel application.

  • Patent number: 7126979
Abstract: The system and method autonomously and selectively jams frequency-hopping signals in near real-time by incorporating a fundamental change in the detection and reaction technology, to provide a reaction time that is short enough, within milliseconds or less, to capture and then jam even the fastest frequency hopping radios in use today, without relying on prior art methods of using standard CPU driven technology. The system automatically determines if detected signal(s) should be jammed, and subsequently to automatically end extremely quickly activates the jamming transmitter on the frequency-hopper transmitter's frequency. Finally, the system provides a programmable user interface so that operators can set up the system to act autonomously as intended, such that operator intervention is unnecessary when the system is placed in jamming operation mode.

  • Patent number: 7099369
Abstract: A Method and Apparatus for Surgical High-speed Follower Jamming Based on Selectable Target Direction is disclosed. The system and method of the present invention automatically detects and jams sudden, short duration communications signals in near real time, in a compass direction selected by the user on the battlefield. Such a system is unique in the number and type of input parameters it uses to allow the operator to tailor its jamming results. The system solves the efficiency, fratricide, and latency issues of prior art systems and greatly enhances the operational capabilities of the modern military unit by allowing the unit to kill all enemy transmitters in any specified sector of the battlefield. The system embodies the addition of real time direction-finding methods to the invention of application Ser. No. 10/912,976.

  • Patent number: 7095779
Abstract: A Method and Apparatus for Automatic Jammer Frequency Control of Surgical Reactive Jammers is disclosed. The system and method to autonomously and selectively jam frequency-hopping signals in near real-time. The system has the ability to automatically detect short duration signals (such as those output from frequency hoppers), to automatically determine if detected signal(s) should be jammed, and subsequently to automatically and extremely quickly activate the jamming transmitter on the frequency-hopper transmitter's frequency. Furthermore, the system improves upon the FFT-based front-end system by incorporating a module that automatically and iteratively comparing the digital FFT results to the analog RF signal to the arrive at a total frequency offset between the FFT results and the analog signal so that the transmitted jamming signal will be more accurately applied on the desired or target frequency.

  • Patent number: 7075482
Abstract: A Direction Finding DF Method and System Using Transmission Signature Differentiation is disclosed. Also disclosed is system that is able identify which signal is coming from which transmiitter. Futhermore, the syatem can take each respective transmitter's Line-of-Bearing (LOB) data and process them separately. The system is further capable of being fully automated in order to reduce to processing time and eliminate the necessity of human intervention. In an alternative embodiment of the present invention the system can feasibly be remotely controlled by a network such that the information can be collected from other from similar systems. In this way, a far more efficient DF System can be achieved in which multiple transmitters' positions can be determined one quickly from a centralized command facility.

  • Patent number: 6814096
Abstract: A closed loop pressure controller system that sets, measures and controls the process pressure within a semiconductor process is shown. The system is commonly composed of a pressure sensor to collect the pressure information, a controller box that hosts the control electronics, and a valve to physically affect the conductivity of the inlet or outlet gas line and accordingly the process pressure. The present invention differs from the prior art by using closed-loop motor control of the valve, rather than the method of the prior art, where the valve position is controlled by a stepper motor actuator driven in an open loop fashion. It is demonstrated that the utility of such prior art open-loop configurations is limited by the fact that the achievable precision of the valve position is hindered by static friction in the valve system, and the non-linear character of the torque versus shaft-angle of the motor (among other error components).
