  • Patent number: 7144022
Abstract: A front suspension for a tractor has an axle that is pivotally coupled to an axle carrier to pivot about a substantially longitudinal axis. The axle carrier, in turn, is pivotally coupled to the chassis of the vehicle to pivot about a generally vertical axis. The front end of the axle carrier is supported by a counter frame that prevents the axle carrier from twisting about a longitudinal axis. The counter frame is pivotally coupled to the chassis of the tractor to pivot about a generally lateral and horizontal axis. Both the axle carrier and the counter frame are constrained to pivot about the common horizontal and lateral axis with respect to the chassis of the tractor. Springs are coupled between the counter frame and the chassis of the tractor to control the pivoting of the counter frame with respect to the tractor and provide shock absorbing for the front suspension.

  • Patent number: 7143579
Abstract: The apparatus is an automatic velocity control system for an agricultural machine. Three feedback circuits are used to increase reliability and repeatability of the apparatus despite variations in load and ground conditions and non-linear responses of control components. A solenoid current sensor supplies a feedback signal to control a current controller for solenoids controlling a hydraulic valve, a hydraulic cylinder position sensor provides a feedback signal to counteract the non-linearity of the hydraulic valve controlling the hydraulic cylinder, and wheel speed sensors supply vehicle speed signals to be compared to the signal from the operator's speed control. A microprocessor processes the sensor signals to maintain the desired velocity.

  • Patent number: 7140830
Abstract: An electronic control system for a machine having a boom assembly and an implement assembly. A microprocessor is provided having an input and generating first and second output signals. A first electrohydraulic valve is connected to receive the first output signal from the microprocessor, and connected to position the boom assembly in response to the first output signal. A second electrohydraulic valve is connected to receive the second output signal from the microprocessor, and connected to position the implement assembly in response to the second output signal. A boom position sensor is disposed on the boom assembly or the implement assembly and connected to send a boom position input signal to the microprocessor, the microprocessor being connected to receive the boom position input signal and generate at least one of the first output signal and the second output signal, thereby controlling a position of the implement assembly relative to the boom assembly.

  • Patent number: 7121355
Abstract: A dozer blade control system controls the position of a bulldozer blade, maintaining the blade at a constant position as the dozer travels through a worksite. The control system monitors the angle of the dozer blade with respect to the earth and when it senses that the dozer blade is tilting, it corrects the dozer blade's position by extending or retracting hydraulic cylinders that couple the dozer blade to the chassis of the crawler-tractor. When the dozer chassis pitches forwards, the blade begins to tilt forward and to drop closer to the ground. The control system senses this forward rotation of the blade and retracts the hydraulic cylinders that couple the blade to the chassis, causing the blade to return to and maintain its original position.

  • Patent number: 7114747
Abstract: A system for automatically moving a stabilizer of a work vehicle is disclosed. A joystick is connected to an electronic controller, which in turn, is connected to valve drivers to drive stabilizer raising and lowering valves. In one mode of operation, the controller is programmed to move the stabilizers up or down at a rate that is proportional to the deflection of the joystick from a neutral position. If the operator holds the joystick in a certain position or range of positions, the controller enters a second mode in which it automatically raises the stabilizers even if the joystick is released. The stabilizer can be placed in a third mode of operation by moving the joystick rapidly back and forth. When the operator does this, the controller is configured to reduce the ramp rate or damping of its response to joystick movement.

  • Patent number: 7076896
Abstract: An earthmoving vehicle has an operating arm that is raised and lowered by a hydraulic system. The hydraulic system includes a drain line and at least one actuator connected to the operating arm. The actuator defines a variable-volume chamber connectable to the drain line to lower the operating arm. The hydraulic fluid discharged from the chamber flows through a proportional safety valve adjacent to the actuator and a distributor valve that is driven by a pilot control valve to allow free flow to the drain line. Thus, the lowering of the operating arm is controlled solely by the proportional safety valve.
