  • Patent number: 7097178
Abstract: A novel gasket is provided for filling the space between two mating surfaces on components in an automotive transmission. The gasket includes one or more patches of silicone integrated into a portion of the gasket for providing one or more channels through the gasket, having leak proof seals at the ends of the channel. Bolt passage holes are spaced in the gasket to register with corresponding bolt holes in the mating surfaces. A channel aperture passes through the portion of the gasket augmented with the silicone patch, providing a channel between the mating surfaces. The ends of the channel define leak proof seals between the gasket and the mating surfaces for providing a leak proof fluid flow channel between the mating surfaces.

  • Patent number: 7093315
Abstract: A twist mop comprises a pole, fibers connected to the pole, and a movable collar connected to both the fibers and the pole, so that the collar is movable in an axial and radial direction about the pole, where radial movement of the collar pulls taut the fibers. The mop comprises an upper spline is connected to the pole, a pawl connected to the collar, to allow the collar to move in a radial direction clockwise or counterclockwise about the upper spline. The collar has a radial step to engage the pawl. The pawl is shaped to flex toward the radial step both when the collar axially traverses the pole and when the collar twists in a first direction, around the upper spline. The pawl being shaped to bias towards the upper spline while the collar turns in a second direction, opposite to the first direction, around the upper spline.

  • Patent number: 7073232
Abstract: A jewelry clasp having a pair of bodies at the free ends of a piece of jewelry affixed together by magnetic forces. Each body has a magnet means having north and south poles that are aligned along the longitudinal center line of the clasp with opposite poles abutting each other to hold those bodies in the affixed relationship. There is a safety catch on one of the bodies having a protrusion extending therefrom that overlaps the other body to hold the bodies together. As the protrusion is moved into its latched position, the other body is displaced along the longitudinal centerline to misalign the respective magnetic means, and when the protrusion seats in its latched position, the magnetic means realigns by the magnetic attraction between the magnetic means creating an click that can be heard and/or felt by the wearer to confirm that the bodies are properly affixed together.

  • Patent number: 7055344
Abstract: A gemstone arrangement is described including a primary gem and at least one complementary gem. The primary gem includes a crown and a pavilion. The pavilion has an external wall defining an outer surface. The complementary gem has a crown defining a table. The table is in juxtaposition to and aligned with the pavilion wall for the maximum passage of ambient light from the complementary gem into the primary gem to enhance its visual appearance. In addition, the complementary gem can be positioned and aligned to receive light losses from the primary gem and return those light losses through the crown of the complementary gem to the primary gem.

  • Patent number: 7025496
Abstract: The present invention is directed toward a timepiece, such as a watch, having a protective cover with a gem set therein. The protective cover may be crystal, plastic or any other transparent and durable material. The protective cover has an aperture having concentric cuts. The setting is seated in the aperture and secured to the protective cover. The setting is configured to be of a similar size and shape as the aperture so that it may be securely affixed to the protective cover. A gasket may be inserted between the setting and the aperture to create a watertight seal in the watch cover. The timepiece may also have a hinged, hidden compartment on the backside of the watch frame. Engravings may be made in the hidden compartment, and small, thin objects may be stored therein.

  • Patent number: 7022097
Abstract: A method for the in situ treatment of diseases and malignancies in a living host body. The method includes exposing a diseased or malignant gland of a host body to an effective amount of a therapeutic agent by infusing the therapeutic agent into blood flowing from the diseased or malignant gland that has been captured and contained in an isolated section associated with the gland. The contaminated blood from this isolated section is then evacuated from the host body, cleaned, detoxified and returned to the host body without exposing other glands, organs or tissue of the host body to the contaminated blood and without interrupting the normal flow of blood circulating through the host body.

  • Patent number: 6982883
Abstract: A radiation tolerant electrical component is provided without a radiation hardened material FET. A p-channel MOSFET provides switching capabilities in radiated environments because its gate voltage starts at a negative value and becomes more negative with exposure to radiation. Therefore, the gate is still controllable when exposed to radiation.

  • Patent number: 6883709
Abstract: A wholesale and/or retail check out station system includes a biometric finger print reader and storage for reading and storing biometric data of employees having access to the cash registers of the check out stations in the system. Authorization to use a cash register in the system is programmed into the microprocessor in the system, limiting use of a cash register to authorized employees. Employees are identified by finger print using biometric technology. Limitations of use is extended to access to operate particular cash register(s); handling returned merchandise at a cash register; refunds on returned purchases require authorization of the manager and the cashier; cashing checks at a cash register, where the limitation includes only cashing of employer drawn payroll checks of employees; and, clearing errors made in tabulations at a cash register.
