  • Patent number: 8065299
Abstract: Methods and systems for providing a response to a query. Multiple users' search engine activity in regard to a query is correlated. A response is provided based upon this correlated search engine activity information. For one embodiment of the invention, in the context of search engine result optimization, the user activity and/or user information of multiple users, during a search session, is correlated with queries to effect an evolving association between queries and the organization and presentation of documents. Systems in accordance with such embodiments employ the ability to store users' activity over the entire search session, thus making possible the correlation of a number of different types of user activity and user information. The use of correlated user input allows such systems to provide relevant search results without the limitations imposed by the key-word-based systems of the prior art.

  • Patent number: 8030957
Abstract: A method of testing an integrated circuit of a device is described. Air is allowed through a fluid line to modify a size of a volume defined between the first and second components of an actuator to move a contactor support structure relative to the apparatus and urge terminals on the contactor support structure against contacts on the device. Air is automatically released from the fluid line through a pressure relief valve when a pressure of the air in the fluid line reaches a predetermined value. The holder is moved relative to the apparatus frame to disengage the terminals from the contacts while maintaining the first and second components of the actuator in a substantially stationary relationship with one another. A connecting arrangement is provided including first and second connecting pieces with complementary interengaging formations that restricts movement of the contactor substrate relative to the distribution board substrate in a tangential direction.

  • Patent number: 6818486
Abstract: A method of fabricating an electronic component is disclosed in which an electrically conductive layer (4) is provided upon a substrate (2). A mask (6) having a window (8) is provided upon the layer and by etching, preferably chemically, through the window an opening (10) the conductive layer. Conductive material is deposited, preferably by vapor deposition, through the window to form an island in the opening. The etching of the conductive layer is carried out such that the conductive layer is undercut at the periphery of the window with the result that the periphery of the island is spaced apart from the periphery of the opening. Also disclosed is a thin film transistor structure well suited to fabrication by the above described method.

  • Patent number: 6750886
Abstract: A method is provided for displaying information on a display area of a screen of an electronic device. An initial page of information is displayed on the display area. A signal is transmitted from a user interface device operated by a user. A subsequent page of information is displayed on the display area in response to the signal, including at least one previously displayed line on a previous page, but moved away from an edge of the display area, and at least one newly displayed line between the previously displayed plurality of lines and the edge. Automatically upon display of the subsequent page, a visual cue is displayed on the display area between the previously displayed plurality of lines and the newly displayed plurality of lines in a manner to enable a user to distinguish the previously displayed plurality of lines from the newly displayed plurality of lines.

  • Patent number: 6703851
Abstract: The invention relates to a test socket interposer. The interposer includes a flexible substrate with an upper signal contact and an upper ground contact on its top surface and a lower signal and a lower ground contact on its bottom surface. A portion of an upper surface of the upper signal contact is higher and to the right of an upper surface of the ground contact so that a signal contact of a device contacts the upper signal contact before a device ground slug contacts the upper ground contact. Also, a downward force exercised by the device signal contact causes pivoting of the upper signal contact and the substrate is sufficiently flexible to allow for this pivoting of the upper signal contact.

  • Patent number: 6700802
Abstract: A system is described for controlling the flow of electrical power between two sources. The system includes a circuit coupled between a first source and a second source and a controller subsystem coupled to the circuit. The circuit is capable of transitioning, in a continuous manner, between a first direction wherein electrical power flows from the first source to the second source and a second direction wherein electrical power flows from the second source to the first source. The control subsystem generates control signals to selectively activate switching elements of the circuit to control the direction and the amount of electrical power flowing through the circuit between the first and second sources.
