Patent number: 6482792Abstract: A liquid laundry detergent composition of desired viscosity produced by a process comprising dissolving in an aqueous medium a water-soluble builder and a surfactant blend comprising two nonionic surfactants and two anionic surfactants, such as surfactant blend being prepared by partially sulfating and subsequently neutralizing a mixture of two ethoxylated long chain alcohol nonionic surfactants containing different average numbers of ethoxy groups per molecule while employing certain values of the weight ratio of the two nonionic surfactants and the percent conversion of the nonionic surfactants to sulfated anionic surfactants.Type: GrantFiled: September 7, 2001Date of Patent: November 19, 2002Assignee: Church & Dwight Co., Inc.Inventor: John Ip

Patent number: 6223242Abstract: A crossbar routing arrangement is disclosed for use in a digital system having three or more buses. An associated method is also disclosed. The routing arrangement is configured for transferring a set of data received from any particular one of the buses to any other selected one of the buses and includes a control arrangement associated with each bus for dividing the set of data into at least first and second subsets of data and for adding self-routing signals to each data subset which signals identify the selected bus. A switching arrangement is configured for directing the first and second data subsets in a predetermined way responsive to the self-routing signals. The control arrangement cooperates with the switching arrangement to transfer the data subsets over physically distinct data transfer paths defined between the switching arrangement and the control arrangements.Type: GrantFiled: September 28, 1998Date of Patent: April 24, 2001Assignee: Sifera, Inc.Inventors: Stephen J. Sheafor, Christopher Koerner, Bradford C. Lincoln, Robert Sugar, Jonathan L. Huie

Patent number: 6002258Abstract: The present invention provides a locator/monitor capable of locating a boring tool and monitoring the progress of the tool for control purposes. The locator/monitor may be used in expedited locating methodology and straightforward calibration techniques of the present invention. A durable and cost effective pitch sensor is also provided by the present invention. In addition, the present invention provides a slotted transmitter housing formed of an electrically conductive material, where the magnetic field generated by the transmitter is capable of penetrating to the surface.Type: GrantFiled: April 13, 1998Date of Patent: December 14, 1999Assignee: Digital Control, Inc.Inventor: John E. Patent number: 5900976Abstract: A virtual image display system includes a reflective mode spatial light modulator, a light source for illuminating the spatial light modulator, and an optics arrangement for directing a predetermined portion of the light from the light source into the spatial light modulator and for directing certain portions of the light reflected from the spatial light modulator to a desired viewing area. The optics arrangement includes an overall polarizing beam splitter. The polarizing beam splitter has three layers of materials. The first layer is a layer of polarizing beam splitting material configured to reflect light of a first polarization and transmit light of a second polarization. The second layer is another layer of polarizing beam splitting material. The third layer is a layer of material positioned between the first and second layers of polarizing beam splitting materials. The first, second, and third layers of materials act together to form the overall polarizing beam splitter.Type: GrantFiled: February 20, 1998Date of Patent: May 4, 1999Assignee: Displaytech, Inc.Inventors: Mark A. Handschy, Noel A. Clark

Patent number: 5285037Abstract: An illuminated dome type switch for use on a control panel having a support base and suitable circuitry for interconnecting various components making up the panel is disclosed herein. This switch includes a light source and a dome, both of which are supported on the base of the panel and the latter of which is resiliently movable between a biased OFF position and a depressed ON position. The switch also includes a keycap having an upper portion through which at least some light can pass, and a bottom outer periphery including a dome actuator. The keycap is supported directly over the light source and to one side of the dome for movement between a biased OFF position so as not to depress the dome and a depressed ON position for causing the actuator to depress the dome in order to move the latter to its on position, whereby to turn on the light source by means of circuitry forming part of the control panel and a suitable source of power and thereby illuminate the upper portion of the keycap.Type: GrantFiled: April 10, 1992Date of Patent: February 8, 1994Assignees: Ampex Systems Corp., Data Entry Products, Inc.Inventors: Antoni S. Baranski, David N. Larkins, Thomas J. Heath, David W. Thompson
