Abstract: Systems and methods for ensuring data integrity in a data processing system are disclosed. The method may include monitoring when data for a specified device is available for error correction code generation. A new error correction code may be generated in hardware for the data, based on the indicated size of the data. Detected errors may be corrected in software, based on the generated new error correction code. A first indication of the specified device, a second indication of the data and a third indication of a size of the data may be received during the monitoring. The method may also include indicating when the generating of the new error correction code for a specified number of accesses for at least a portion of the data is complete, and enabling or disabling the error correction code generation. The enabling and/or the disabling may be accomplished via an enable signal.
Abstract: A container application is a native application that allows a web based application to access a computer's resources such as messaging, also known as interprocess communications. If a container application is associated with a window, then the web based application can alter or control many, or all, aspects of the container application's content area and meta user interfaces (UIs). Web based applications are downloaded from application servers and run inside container applications. A web based application can use messaging for drag and drop and other capabilities and thereby more tightly integrate with the user's desktop environment.
Abstract: Methods and systems for vector combining power amplification are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, a plurality of signals are individually amplified, then summed to form a desired time-varying complex envelope signal. Phase and/or frequency characteristics of one or more of the signals are controlled to provide the desired phase, frequency, and/or amplitude characteristics of the desired time-varying complex envelope signal. In another embodiment, a time-varying complex envelope signal is decomposed into a plurality of constant envelope constituent signals. The constituent signals are amplified equally or substantially equally, and then summed to construct an amplified version of the original time-varying envelope signal. Embodiments also perform frequency up-conversion.

Abstract: Secure operations and components may be integrated into a conventional processing system executing a standard operating system. A secure processing environment where trusted secure application code is executed may be provided for performing secure operations. In this environment, the applications and components may access all of the components in the system including secure components. An open processing environment is provided for performing conventional operations. Conventional application code may be executed in the open environment. In the open environment, access may only be provided to open components. That is, open applications and components may not be allowed to access the secure components in the system. In this way, a secure processing environment may be provided that allows secure and non-secure applications to be simultaneously executed while protecting sensitive data and operations.
Abstract: A method and system for providing at least one contact in a flash memory device is disclosed. The flash memory device includes a plurality of gate stacks and at lease one component including a polysilicon layer as a top surface. The method and system further include forming a silicide on the top surface of the polysilicon layer and providing an insulating layer covering the plurality of gate stacks, the at least one component and the silicide. The method and system also include etching the insulating layer to provide at least one contact hole. The insulating layer etching step uses the silicide as an etch stop layer to ensure that the insulating etching step does not etch through the polysilicon layer. The method and system also include filling the at least one contact hole with a conductor.

Abstract: A mobile device receives a radio frequency (RF) signal, comprising a physical signal such as a primary synchronization signal (PSS), from a serving base station. Two successive samples derived from the received physical signal such as a PSS are selected to generate a single phasor. A receiver frequency offset for the received RF signal is estimated utilizing the generated single phasor. A correlation process is performed to detect the received PSS. An angular increment in the first quadrant is calculated utilizing the generated single phasor. An actual angular increment subject to the receiver frequency offset is calculated based on the angular increment in the first quadrant and signs of real and imaginary components of the generated single phasor. The receiver frequency offset is determined based on the calculated actual angular increment and is utilized to adjust a reference or local oscillator frequency of the mobile device.
Abstract: In one aspect, a network system includes a user interface which allows a user to interact with the network system. An agent server is coupled to the user interface. The agent server manages the operation of the network system. Furthermore, the agent server in conjunction with the user interface is operable to create or modify an agent in response to interaction by the user. In another aspect, a network system includes an agent server which manages the operation of the network system. An agent is operable to utilize a service within the network system. A service wrapper, associated with the service, cooperates with the agent server to mediate interaction between the service and the agent.

Abstract: The present invention relates to compositions and methods for characterizing, diagnosing, and treating cancer. In particular the invention provides the means and methods for the diagnosis, characterization, prognosis and treatment of cancer and specifically targeting cancer stem cells. The present invention provides a soluble FZD receptor comprising an extracellular domain of a human FZD receptor that inhibits growth of tumor cells. The present invention still further provides a soluble receptor comprising a Fri domain of a human FZD receptor that binds a ligand of a human FZD receptor and said soluble receptor is capable of inhibiting tumor growth. The present invention still further provides a method of treating cancer comprising administering a soluble FZD receptor comprising for example, either an extracellular domain of a human FZD receptor or a Fri domain of a human FZD receptor, in an amount effective to inhibit tumor growth.

Abstract: Aspects of a method and system for multi-band amplitude estimation and gain control in an audio CODEC are provided. In this regard, an audio signal may be filtered and delayed to generate one or more sub-band signals, a gain may be applied to each sub-band signal to generate one or more level adjusted sub-band signals, and the one or more level adjusted signals may be added to a delayed version of the audio signal. The gain applied to a particular one of the one or more sub-band signals may be controlled based on a detected amplitude of a summed signal derived by summing the particular one of the one or more sub-band signals and a corresponding one of the one or more level-adjusted sub-band signals.
Abstract: Disclosed is a conjugate for gene transfer, which is capable of being used for treatment of incurable diseases, comprising an oligonucleotide intended to be transferred into target cells and a hydrophilic polymer, wherein an end of the oligonucleotide is covalently conjugated to the hydrophilic polymer. Also, the present invention discloses polyelectrolyte complex micelles formed from such a conjugate and a cationic polymer or cationic peptide. Such polyelectrolyte complex micelles can effectively transfer oligonucleotides as therapeutic agents into target cells, making it possible to obtain desired activities of the delivered oligonucleotides in target cells even when the micelles are clinically applied at a relatively low concentration. Therefore, the conjugate and the polyelectrolyte complex micelle are very useful in basic life science research and the medical field.
