  • Patent number: 8121619
Abstract: A method, computer program product, and system are provided to update geographic location information for an electronic device. The method can include transmitting the geographic location information for the electronic device to a server device at a first time interval. A determination can be made regarding whether the electronic device is in communication with a third-party device. If the electronic device is in communication with the third-party device, then updated geographic location information for the electronic device is transmitted to the server device at a second time interval, where the second time interval is shorter than the first time interval.

  • Patent number: 8037324
Abstract: In a Power over Ethernet (POE) system, a power source equipment (PSE) device configured to deliver power to one or more powered devices (PDs) over a plurality of Ethernet transmission lines. The PSE interface includes a multi-port transmission line connector capable connecting to multiple Ethernet transmission lines, and a power source equipment (PSE) controller module integrated with the multi-port transmission line connector. The PSE controller module is capable of high power operation beyond that specifically by IEEE standard 802.3af™ for powered devices. More specifically, the PSE controller is configured to deliver over 15.4 Watts, and up to 36 Watts of power, to meet the needs of high powered devices such as IP Phones, and access points. Further, the PSE controllers can utilize, currently unused, class 4 of IEEE standard 802.3af™ to identify, initiate, and classify the high power operation.

  • Patent number: 7765577
Abstract: A method of transmitting data in a cable modem system includes the steps of encoding the data using forward error correction. The data is then encoded with Turbo encoding. The data is then sent to a modulation scheme. The data is then transmitted over a cable channel. The data is then demodulated. The data is then decoded using a Turbo decoder. An inverse of the forward error correction is then applied to the data.

  • Patent number: 7553364
Abstract: Provided are a ferroelectric thin film formation composition, a ferroelectric thin film and a method of fabricating a ferroelectric thin film, the ferroelectric thin film formation composition being capable of effectively preventing occurrence of a striation and expanding the range of choice of a sol composition. A ferroelectric thin film formation composition containing a metal compound that is a material to form a ferroelectric thin film contains a hydrophobic compound which includes a reactive group reacting with a hydroxy group and in which at least an end side of a remnant exclusive of the reactive group has a hydrophobic property. Thus, it is possible to expand the range of choice of the sol composition while effectively suppressing occurrence of the striation.

  • Patent number: 7511826
Abstract: An embodiment of a symmetry forming device for an alignment system can include an interferometer, a compensator, and an analyzer. The interferometer can be configured to receive a light beam, where the light beam can be produced from a light source or from combining beams from a plurality of light sources. Further, the interferometer can be configured to split the light beam into two beams, rotate one beam 180 degrees with respect to the other beam about an axis of rotation, and recombine the two beams to form a recombined beam. The compensator can be configured to adjust a path length of either the combined or the recombined beam in first and second polarization directions to form an adjusted light beam. The analyzer can be configured to pass a polarization direction or an amplitude and phase profile of either the recombined or adjusted light beam, where the recombined or adjusted light beam is directed onto a substrate.

  • Patent number: 7449908
Abstract: A system or apparatus for monitoring an Integrated Circuit (IC) chip includes: a sense circuit at least partially constructed on the IC chip and configured to produce one or more sense signals each indicative of a corresponding process-dependent circuit parameter of the IC chip; and a digitizer module configured to produce, responsive to the one or more sense signals, one or more digitized signals each representative of a corresponding one of the sense signals. A controller is configured to determine a value of one or more of the process-dependent circuit parameters based on one or more of the digitized signals.

  • Patent number: 7378878
Abstract: The programmable slew rate driver uses separate and programmably selectable resistors for time constants for on and off transitions on the NMOS and PMOS output transistors. By proper setting of gate voltage time constants and overlap of NMOS and PMOS “on” times, a desired output slew rate is accomplished, having a smooth output transition, without generation of shoot-through current. The programmable slew rate driver includes a first driver transistor coupled between the first supply voltage and output, a second driver transistor coupled between the second supply voltage and output, a plurality of upper transition blocks coupled in parallel and a plurality of lower transition blocks coupled in parallel between the first and second supply voltage. The rates of change and overlap of the gate voltages are in turn substantially determined by the resistance of the lower transition control blocks and the capacitance of the gate of the second driver transistor.

  • Patent number: 6219763
Abstract: A system for transferring data in a microprocessor architecture including a memory array unit (MAU) and multiple devices seeking access to the MAU. The system has a row match circuit for detecting and indicating a row match between successive row addresses. The row match circuit include a latch for storing a previous row address request, and a comparator for comparing a previously latched row address request with a present row address request associated with a specific device of the multiple devices seeking access to the MAU. The comparator asserts a row match signal when the previously latched row address request matches the present row address request. The system further includes an arbiter for controlling priorities associated with the multiple devices seeking access to the MAU.
