  • Patent number: 7827649
Abstract: A cleaning apparatus includes an elongate rod defined by a proximal end portion having a first linkage member and an opposed distal end portion. The first linkage member is pivotally coupled to a second linkage member of a cleaning head. There is a biasing assembly that is coupled to the elongate rod and to the cleaning head, which tensions the cleaning head to a maximum pivotal excursion relative to the cleaning rod.

  • Patent number: 6629959
Abstract: A needle tip protective device for use with percutaneous entry needles. In one embodiment, the needle tip protective device includes a needle guard slidably mounted on a hypodermic needle, the latter having a needle tip located at the distal end thereof, and a change of profile formed medially there along. The needle guard is movable along the hypodermic needle and engageable with the change in profile formed thereon. The engagement with the change in profile is configured to correspond with the ability of the needle trap to entrap the needle tip once the needle trap has advanced the sufficient distance distally along the hypodermic needle. In further refinements, the needle trap may be biased toward the distal needle tip of the needle.

  • Patent number: 6464657
Abstract: An exteriorly positionable anatomical brace for stabilizing a unit pivoting joint disposed between a first limb structure and a second limb structure of a living being. The brace includes a first cuff partially encompassable about the first limb structure and a second cuff partially encompassable about the second limb structure. Each cuff is a generally U-shaped tensionable and flexibly bendable wall structure with two lateral cuff arms having respective distal ends arcuately extending toward each other. At least one tensioning elongate member is integral with each lateral cuff arm and has a threaded end extending from the respective distal end of the cuff. A stop member is disposed at each distal end of each cuff arm and accommodates the passage therethrough of the threaded end of the elongate member.

  • Patent number: 6376925
Abstract: A force stand for an energy platform system which is operative to generate electrical energy from the weight of a moving vehicle. The force stand comprises a vertical beam and an electricity producing stage moveably attached thereto. The translation of the stage on the beam is operative to produce electrical energy. The force stand further comprises a drive assembly mechanically coupled to the stage and the energy platform. The drive assembly is configured to translate the stage upwardly on the beam as the vehicle moves over the energy platform system and translate the stage downwardly when the vehicle is not moving over the energy platform system. In this respect, the stage produces electricity as it is moved both upwardly and downwardly on the vertical beam in order to produce a constant flow of electricity. In the preferred embodiment, the drive assembly may be either a hydraulic cylinder or a scissor lift operative to translate the stage upwardly. The stage is translated downwardly by the weight of stage.

  • Patent number: 6338527
Abstract: A headrest secured seat cover for vehicles having side-impact airbags mounted within the sides of the seat. The cover comprises a bottom and middle portion attachable to the seat cushion. A top portion of the seat cover is attachable to the seat headrest. In order to attach the seat cover to the headrest, the seat cover includes at least one elastic strap attached to the top portion of the cover and configured to attach the top portion of the cover to mounting bars of the headrest. The seat cover further includes a stiffening member disposed about a periphery of the top portion of the seat cover. The stiffening member supports the top portion of the seat cover such that the seat cover will be contourable to the shape of the vehicle seat and remain in place. Since the seat cover is attached to the headrest, the sides of the seat are unobstructed for proper airbag inflation.

  • Patent number: 6183448
Abstract: A needleless injection site comprising a housing which defines a fluid passage. Disposed within the housing is a reseal member which includes an openable and closable aperture, and an expandable and collapsible reservoir. The reseal member normally resides in a first position within the housing wherein the aperture is closed and the reservoir is collapsed. The reseal member is deformable such that the application of compressive pressure thereto will facilitate the movement thereof within the housing to a second position wherein the reservoir is expanded and the aperture is opened and placed into communication with the fluid passage and the reservoir. The removal of the compressive pressure from the reseal member will facilitate the resilient return thereof to the first position wherein the aperture is closed and the reservoir is collapsed. The collapse of the reservoir is adapted to prevent the creation of a vacuum within the fluid passage when the reseal member resiliently returns to the first position.
