Abstract: A pushing mechanism has a hollow slotted tube which receives radially extending pins of a threaded shaft. The tube is rotated by the rotor of a motor and is threadably received within an axially and rotationally fixed nut that is connected to a housing which, in turn, is fixed to the motor housing. Rotation of the shaft through the pins causes the shaft to move axially. An outer threadless end of the shaft extends beyond the housing for pushing outside mechanisms such as the stage of a microscope, a micro hardness tester or even a hydraulic cylinder.
Abstract: A luggage stuffer for soft-wall luggage comprises an air-tight bladder containing a gas supply mechanism which is activatable to inflate the bladder to fill a storage volume of the luggage. In this way, the luggage is inflated for display.
Abstract: An interchangeable setting for a jewelry piece for displaying an ornament comprises a holder for supporting the ornament and prongs on the holder for securing the ornament. The holder have a cylindrical extension having projections for insertion into a receiver. The receiver has walls defining a cavity for removably receiving the holder. At least one groove is provided on an inner wall defining the cavity of the receiver for detachable engagement with the projection of the post for detachably securing the holder to the receiver. The upper surface of the groove is angled to insure wobble-free engagement of the holder and the receiver.
Abstract: A track display apparatus comprises an elongated endless track preferably in the form of a ring. A pair of spaced apart conductive rails extend along the track and are engaged by conductive rollers which receive electrical power for a motor housing surrounded by an ornament. The ornament is advantageously Santa with his sleigh and the reindeer. Power is supplied by a power signal unit attached along the track and electrically connected to the rails and a low voltage direct current power source. A plurality of supports are connected around the track for supporting the track above the floor or around another ornament, for example, a Christmas tree.
Abstract: A filter consisting of a conventional filter medium mounted between retaining layers of a porous fabric cut to fit the shape of the opening in the mechanism in which it is to be mounted. A tab extends from one edge of the filter. Around the outer periphery of one of the retaining layers is a layer of adhesive which is, in turn, covered by a protective layer of paper, cardboard or the like. Upon removal of the protective layer, the filter is held in place by the layer of adhesive against its mounting. The protective paper is left on a portion of the tab, thereby, reinforcing the tab and allows it to remain free to manipulate the filter assembly during installation and removal.
Abstract: A skateboard has ball rollers rotatably mounted within cavities at the bottom of the body of the skateboard. A plurality of ball bearings mounted within the cavity contact the roller ball and rotate as the roller ball rotates. A plurality of round islands or mounts are located adjacent to each roller ball for receiving a side guide or a side plug which control the pitching and steering of the body of the skateboard. Each is detachably connected to the mount depending on the desired length. A glide plate is provided over the cavities at the bottom of the body for providing a sliding surface. Air passages are provided from the front end and the back end of the skateboard to each cavity for cooling the ball bearings located within. Circular cover plates fixed to the body over the glide plate and over both the mounts and the roller balls such that each roller ball partially extends through the cover plate and that the side guide and the side plug protrude therein.
