Abstract: A method of adjusting the contours of lineart shapes appearing in bitmap or halftone separations for variations in the mechanical characteristics of printing devices, the color of the separation, and the existence of neighboring lineart shapes. The method involves decomposing the image into discrete lineart shapes, and performing dot-by-dot shifting operations to achieve adjusted shape contours.
