Abstract: A device which protects a carpet from furniture by providing a pedestal type device on which the furniture rests. The device is comprised of a generally flat, horizontal element with a plurality of vertical, downwardly projecting, stiff pins attached thereto. The pins protrude though the carpet pile, through grid openings in the carpet backing, through the carpet pad and onto the floor surface. The furniture rests on the horizontal element which is held above the carpet by the pins. The furniture does not touch the carpet itself.
Abstract: Disclosed is a portable catering system for transporting, storing and serving food. In one embodiment, the portable catering system comprises first and second carrying cases, a first, second and third trays each having at least one cavity to store food, and an interconnect member. The portable catering system is operable from a transportation position to a dispensing position. In the transportation position, the trays are stacked upon each other and the first and second carrying cases are disposed about the stacked trays whereby the portable catering system may be carried or transported. In the dispensing position, the first and second carrying cases disassembled and spaced adjacent to each other and connected by the interconnect member whereby the first tray is supported on top of the first carrying case, the second tray is supported on top of the interconnect member and the third tray is supported on top of the second carrying case thereby allowing the food to be dispensed.
Abstract: A recreational device for use by a person to traverse a terrain surface. In one embodiment, the device comprises a wheel member and a track member engaged thereto. The track member comprises first and second bearing surfaces. The device further comprises a foot plate member adapted to carry and support the person. The device further comprises first and second bearing members extending from the foot plate member and engaged with the first and second bearing surface, respectively. In operation, as the wheel member traverses a terrain, the track member is caused to rotate within the first and second bearing members and about the foot plate member.
Abstract: Disclosed is a vehicle having a body portion which may be rolled upon and secured to a mating surface. In one embodiment, the vehicle comprises a first axle having a wheel member mounted thereon and a second axle having another wheel member mounted thereon. Each of the wheel members comprise an integral fastening portion of the same material as the wheel that is engagable with the mating surface so that the vehicle may be secured to the mating surface regardless of the orientation of the mating surface.
Abstract: This is a cover for a transmitter which engages the sides of the transmitter and covers the actuation buttons of the transmitter when the device is carried in a pants pocket preventing accidental activation of the buttons; a plastic variation has a cover portion which can be moved to permit access to the buttons.
Abstract: A connector system comprising a first connector body comprising a housing and a collar. The housing comprising at least one cam recess having an innermost portion and an outermost portion. The collar comprises a first end having at least one engagement boss and a second end having at least one rotational rib member which is elastically deformable. The rotational rib member comprises a cam follower portion. The collar being resistingly rotatable about the housing as the cam follower portion is slidingly moveable from the innermost portion to the outermost portion of the cam recess causing the rotational rib member to become increasingly elastically deformed. The connector system further comprises a second connector body comprising at least one engagement recess having a tapered wall portion and a locking portion.
Abstract: Disclosed is a device for use with a nursing bottle having an inner bag. In one embodiment, the device comprises a base member and a first member extending from the base member and adapted to engage with the inner bag of the nursing bottle. The device further comprises a second member extending from the base member and adapted to support the nursing bottle during feeding. The base member is formed with a lip portion which surrounds the first and second members. In operation, a person feeding an infant may support the nursing bottle upon the second member while filing the nursing bottle with baby formula. Thereafter, the person may remove the nursing bottle from the second member and engage the nursing bottle with the first member to eliminate air from the inner bag of the nursing bottle. This is accomplished by pushing the nursing bottle downward along the first member.
Abstract: A fluorescent lamp with spring-loaded terminal pins includes a tube having an inner surface and an outer surface; an amount of electrically excitable gas disposed in the tube; a fluorescent chemical coat disposed on the inner surface of the tube; a pair of electrodes with each electrode positioned within the tube near each end thereof; a pair of base caps each sealed to a separate end of the tube such that the length of the tube including base caps is about four feet; and a pair of spring-loaded terminal pins extended through each base cap and coupled to the nearest electrode for delivering electrical energy thereto.
Abstract: A keyboard positioning system in which the keyboard is positioned with its rear edge substantially lower than its forward, or operator edge in order that the operator might use the keyboard with the plane of the operator's hands parallel to, or below the line of the operator's forearm, thus reducing the incidence of carpal tunnel syndrome. A hand support bar is provided to support the operator's hands while keyboarding.
Abstract: A game for use with more than one marbles. The game comprises a housing having first and second sides, a bottom surface and a return area. The bottom surface is sloped such that when the marbles are placed upon the bottom surface the marbles tend under the force of gravity to roll to the return area. The device also comprises a support member disposed above the bottom surface having a plurality of indentations to support one of the marbles. The device further comprises a casing connected to said housing to substantially enclose the same and a first handle member extending through the casing. The handle member comprises a first end which may be grasped by the person and a second end which may be used to grasp the marbles. The handle member being movable along the casing so that the marbles may be picked up from the return area and placed upon the support member.
