  • Patent number: 7957818
Abstract: The invention is an implantable electrical stimulation lead for chronic or long term use that has an improved electrical connection between the electrode and conductor. This is accomplished through the use of metal coils embedded in the sidewall of the lead body. A wire conductor providing electrical continuity from a proximal electrode to a distal electrode has a protruding portion extending through the sidewall. This protruding portion can reside adjacent to either a proximal or a distal electrode. In any event, the protruding portion of the lire is captured underneath a ring electrode that is physically deformed into direct contact with the metal of the wire, preferably by swaging. This serve to make electrical conductivity between the wire and the electrode with the embedded coil serving as support during the swaging process.

  • Patent number: 7849872
Abstract: Multiple unique keyed fluid connectors that are not cross-connectable with each other are described. Each keyed fluid connector comprises a first body including a first mating surface and having a first fluid fitting disposed in a first port in the first mating surface; a second body including a second mating surface opposable to the first mating surface and having a second fluid fitting disposed in a second port in the second mating surface, the second fluid fitting connectable to the first fluid fitting; and a keying feature comprising at least a first pin extending from one of the first and second bodies and disposable in a first hole in the other of the first and second bodies. The connectors are particularly useful in providing a robust system for selecting a particular electrolyte from among several containers of different electrolytes, and dispensing it into an implantable power device.
