  • Patent number: 7339949
Abstract: The invention provides an ARQ scheme where data packets are transmitted from the transmitter to the receiver in first predetermined time intervals, and positive (ACK) and negative (NAK) acknowledgement messages are transmitted from the receiver to the transmitter in second predetermined time intervals. For each data packet that has been transmitted from the transmitter to the receiver, at least two second time intervals can be used for transmitting the acknowledgement message. The invention therefore improves over synchronous feedback transmission schemes by adding flexibility without incorporating the drawback of asynchronous transmission schemes that are known to have a high signalling overhead. The invention is preferably applicable to UMTS and HSDPA systems but can also be applied in any other communications system. The feedback channel may be uplink or downlink.

  • Patent number: 7337423
Abstract: Established is a mask pattern correcting technique for reducing the load to a mask CAD process and for ensuring the minimum dimension defined in an OPC process. A method comprises the steps of: measuring a line width of a mask pattern; extracting edges where the line width of the mask pattern is smaller than a predetermined dimension; generating a central geometrical object having a predetermined width relative to the center between the edges where the line width is smaller than the predetermined dimension; and replacing the portion of the mask pattern where the line width is smaller than the predetermined dimension with the central geometrical object. As a result, the mask pattern line width is changed into the predetermined with dimension of the central geometrical object. This reduces notably the number of geometrical object calculating steps that had been performed for each value of dimension on the basis of a correction table in the prior art, and thereby shortens the mask CAD processing time.

  • Patent number: 7332064
Abstract: A hangar bar for a cathode plate and a method of producing a cathode for electrolytic recovery of metal. The hanger bar comprises a support element which is preferably stainless steel and hollow. An electrically conductive metal cladding is affixed the stainless steel bar by any appropriate mechanism, eg interference fit, welding, chemical or mechanical fastening or coextrusion or roll forming. Affixing the cladding to the stainless steel support element has significant advantages over conventional electroplating techniques including that a more precise engineering specification can be applied to the cladding thickness. This is important to maintain vertical alignment of the cathode plate in the electrolytic cell.
