    Abstract: A spill-containment device for use in connection with the fill-pipe for a liquid storage tank, which includes a spill container installed around the upper end of the fill-pipe and sealed thereto so that it does not leak liquid spilled into the container when the storage tank is being filled by means of the unloading hose of a delivery truck. The upper end of the spill container is open for access to the fill-pipe and has a manhole cover. The seal between the bottom of the spill container and the fill-pipe includes an elongated flexible boot which is fastened at its upper end to the fill-pipe by means of a stainless steel hose clamp and at its lower end to an upstanding flange aligned with an opening in the bottom of the container through which the fill-pipe extends. The open end of the spill container has a novel channel-forming rim for preventing surface water from entering the spill container while at the same time holding the manhole cover in place.

    Abstract: Circuit boards for electronic equipment are produced in which the circuit-forming conductor metal is deposited on a suitably catalyzed and masked resin substrate by an all-additive electroless deposition technique, in which the characterizing feature is the use of a two-stage metal deposition to build up the desired total thickness of metal. In the first stage a fine grained, thin deposit of metal is produced on the substrate which is then water rinsed and immersed in a second metal bath having a sufficiently high rate of deposition to produce the desired total thickness of metal in a commercially practical period of time. Improved adhesion of plated metal to the resin substrate, both before and after thermal shock, is achieved by resort to this two-stage plating procedure.

    Abstract: A filled pastry roll is made from a continuously supplied strip of pastry by apparatus in which a conveyor conveys the pastry through a sequence of treatment stations. A receiving station includes a cutter which cuts a square of pastry from the leading end of the strip. A feeding station includes means for feeding a filling onto the square. A first folding station includes a movable deflector which folds one corner of the square over the filling. A second folding station includes a pair of opposed deflectors which fold the two adjacent corners inwards in succession, so that they overlap. A rolling station includes two parallel platforms between which the folded pastry is rolled by relative reciprocation of the platforms.

    Abstract: Apparatus providing a controlled environment for intensive cultivation of vegetable matter, e.g. bean sprouts is disclosed. A valve regulates the supply of water from a reservoir to a water-spray inlet in the roof of a cultivation chamber having an air vent and a water drainage outlet. A timing device, operatively connected to a valve actuating mechanism, opens the valve for a predetermined length of time at predetermined intervals. The water supplied to the spray inlet is heated by a thermostatically controlled heater. The chamber may be thermally insulated and its interior may be heated by a thermostatically controlled heater.
