Abstract: A semiconductor device includes a header, a semiconductor chip fixed to the header constituting a MOSFET, and a sealing body of insulating resin which covers the semiconductor chip, the header and the like, and further includes a drain lead contiguously formed with the header and projects from one side surface of the sealing body, and a source lead and a gate lead which project in parallel from one side surface of the sealing body, and wires which are positioned in the inside of the sealing body and connect electrodes on an upper surface of the semiconductor chip and the source lead and the gate lead, with a gate electrode pad arranged at a position from the gate lead and the source lead farther than a source electrode pad.
Abstract: A large-scale display device having a plurality of display units which each include a plurality of elongated plasma tubes each filled with a discharge gas, and at least one pair of display electrodes disposed outside the plasma tubes, voltage applying means which applies a drive voltage to the display electrodes to cause electric discharge in the plasma tubes for display. Vertically adjoining ones of the display units respectively have adjoining portions which are offset thicknesswise from each other for prevention of contact between the plasma tubes of the vertically adjoining display units. The voltage applying means is disposed away from the adjoining portions of the vertically adjoining display units.
Abstract: A high frequency power amplifier maintains an excellent linearity regardless of a fluctuation of a load impedance and is downsized. The high frequency power amplifier detects an AC voltage amplitude at an output terminal of a final amplification stage transistor, and suppresses an input signal amplitude of a power amplifier when the voltage amplitude exceeds a predetermined threshold value.

Abstract: A bleacher system comprises: a support structure mounted on wheels; two or more tiers mounted on the support structure, each tier including multiple girders at spaced intervals that are operably connected to the support structure, each girder supporting a plurality of seat supports and a plurality of foot board supports, with seat planks then secured to the seat supports and foot planks secured to the foot board supports in each tier; and at least one actuator operably connected to and extending between the support structure and a selected tier, such that extension of a rod of the hydraulic actuator causes the selected tier to pivot from a transport position into a deployed position, while also causing a corresponding movement of the remaining tiers from the transport position into the deployed position.
Abstract: The presently-disclosed subject matter provides microfluidic devices comprised of two or more carbon nanotube membranes disposed at predetermined intervals within a microchannel. Further provided are methods of using the same for the electrokinetic separation of one or more molecules of interest from a sample.

Abstract: There is provided according to the present invention a manufacturing method of a spark plug that includes a cylindrical metal shell, a cylindrical ceramic insulator retained in the metal shell, a center electrode retained in the ceramic insulator and extending in an axial direction and a ground electrode having a rear end portion fixed to the metal shell and a front end portion formed with a protruding region facing a front end portion of the center electrode with a gap left therebetween and being of substantially uniform thickness except for an area where the protrusion is formed. The spark plug manufacturing method includes a press forming step for pressing the whole of a ground electrode material for constituting the ground electrode, so as to form a protruding region on a front end portion of the ground electrode material and a welding step for, after the press forming step, welding a rear end portion of the ground electrode material to the metal shell.
Abstract: An issuing system for issuing unmodifiable and/or unforgeable hardcopy documents or securities includes a server and a plurality of issuing machines connected to the server via a network. Each of the issuing machines receives an ID recording medium provided by a potential purchaser, retrieves an identification recoded in the received ID recording medium, requests the potential purchaser to input request for a transaction of the security or fixed rate financing instrument, processes the requested transaction by retrieving information via a network from the server, and prints out on demand a hardcopy of the security or fixed rate financing instrument as purchased by the potential purchaser and a checksum thereon. A method for forming a new market with the issuing system.
Abstract: The invention relates to a dental unit and a method for feeding water to instruments and/or to other water outlet points of a dental unit. The object of the invention is to enable keeping pressure of the water lines of a dental unit essentially stable, especially also when the relatively stable pressure typical for public water systems cannot be taken advantage of because of potential backflow of water contaminated at the point of use to the public water system. According to the invention there is arranged a pressure chamber (12) to the feed water line (10) of a dental unit, the said pressure chamber (12) being arranged in functional connection with pressure control means (14, 15), and upstream of the said pressure chamber (12) a pump (13), which is arranged to be able to pump water to the said pressure chamber (12) also when it is pressurized.

Abstract: A thermal cycle system and method suitable for mass production of DNA comprising a temperature control body having at least two sectors. Each sector has at least one heater, cooler, or other means for changing temperature. A path traverses the sectors in a cyclical fashion. In use, a piece of tubing or other means for conveying is placed along the path and a reaction mixture is pumped or otherwise moved along the path such that the reaction mixture is repetitively heated or cooled to varying temperatures as the reaction mixture cyclically traverses the sectors. The reaction mixture thereby reacts to form a product. In particular, polymerase chain reaction reactants may continuously be pumped through the tubing to amplify DNA. The temperature control body is preferably a single aluminum cylinder with a grooved channel circling around its exterior surface, and preferably has wedge-shaped or pie-shaped sectors separated by a thermal barrier.

Abstract: A method of generating optimum parallel codes from a source code for a computer system configured of plural processors that share a cache memory or a main memory is provided. A preset code is read and operation amounts and process contents are analyzed while distinguishing dependence and independence among processes from the code. Then, the amount of data to be reused among processes is analyzed, and the amount of data that accesses the main memory is analyzed. Further, upon the reception of a parallel code generation policy inputted by a user, the processes of the code are divided, and while estimating an execution cycle from the operation amount and process contents thereof, the cache use of the reuse data, and the main memory access data amount, a parallelization method with which the execution cycle becomes shortest is executed.

Abstract: A safety and health information reporting system including a wearable device, a metabolic index calculating part, an activity index calculating part, a safety and health status determining part and a determination result output part. The wearable device is worn by a living body. The metabolic index calculating part calculates a metabolic index which represents energy consumption of the living body, based on a detection signal of the wearable device. The activity index calculating part calculates an activity index representing an activity amount of the living body on a daily basis. The safety and health status determining part which determines a safety and health status of the living body, based on a comparison of the metabolic index and the activity index. The determination result output part outputs a determination result of the safety and health status determining part.
Abstract: A magnetic sensor reduces thermal fluctuation and realizes high-sensitive signal detection using a spin Hall device of a simple structure configured with only one magnetic layer. The magnetic sensor includes a stacked film in which a nonmagnetic spin Hall layer, a nonmagnetic insulator layer, and a magnetic layer are stacked, an electrode nonmagnetic terminal pair connected to a side surface of the nonmagnetic spin Hall layer, and a unit applying a current in a film thickness direction of the stacked film. A thickness of the nonmagnetic spin Hall layer is thinner than twice a spin diffusion length of a material constituting the nonmagnetic spin Hall layer. A magnetization direction of the magnetic layer magnetized by an external magnetic field is detected due to the polarity of a voltage across both ends of the electrode nonmagnetic terminal pair.
