  • Patent number: 6880639
Abstract: A system for the downhole injection of chemical into a well through capillary tubing using a surface chemical pump includes downhole injection valve. The downhole injection valve includes an upstream and a downstream check valve connected in series. The upstream check valve has an adjustable spring bias. The amount of bias is dependent on the nature of the well and the system for inserting chemical through the capillary tube into the well. The lower check valve has a fixed bias and protects the injection valve from the unwanted backflow of gas, fluids or solids.

  • Patent number: 6480800
Abstract: The invention is a method and apparatus that verifies the design of electronic circuitry containing a function to be tested. An input, such as a random input, is provided to the electronic circuitry containing the function, yielding an output. This output, in turn, is used as input (denominated “inverse input”) to an inverse of the function to be tested. The resulting output (termed “inverse output”) is compared to the original input to the function to be tested to facilitate verification of the design of the circuitry.

  • Patent number: 6329987
Abstract: The creation of computer generated lenticular images involves the computer manipulation of at least a first and second source image. The images can be of the same object and can be sequential in time or sequential in spatial perspective, or completely unrelated. The images can be scanned into a computer memory and are interlaced. The input can be any source of image. Likewise, the output can be manipulated to any resolution. The output interlaced image is then printed onto a substrate, such as the back surface of a lenticular lens. The frequency of the interlaced image can be matched to the geometry of the lenticules. Thus, the viewer will see the first image from a first viewing perspective and the second image from a second viewing perspective. The invention also provides quality control methods useful in the manufacture of lenticular lenses and lenticular devices.

  • Patent number: 6298650
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a secure yet easily adjustable link design for use in interconnected link jewelry and watches. A link for a bracelet is disclosed that allows for easy adjustment in the length of the bracelet, utilizing a bar and spring system. To remove a link from the bracelet, the links must be at approximately a right angle, force must be applied outwardly to the link with the spring from which a bar is to be removed, and the links easily separate. Similarly to couple links, the links must be at approximately a right angle. When the links are at approximately a right angle, the bar of the first link can enter the spring of the second link. When the links are at any other angle, the bar is secured in the spring and cannot be removed or dislodged. The disclosed bar and spring system allows for a secure yet easily adjustable link system.

  • Patent number: 6281802
Abstract: An alarm and pump control system for automatic chlorinators of the type used with septic treatment systems is disclosed. The present invention includes a switch module that couples alongside an automatic chlorinator that uses dissolvable standard size chlorine tablets in a stack and an activator module that sits on top of the stack of chlorine tablets and descends as the chlorine tablets dissolve. The switch module includes proximity switches that can be coupled to one or more alarms. The activator module includes one or more magnets that interact with the proximity switches to signal the owner that the chlorinator requires refilling or to cut off the pump power.

  • Patent number: 6272665
Abstract: A tool and method that automatically formats an Engineering Change Order (ECO), in a programming language suitable for processing by an Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tool, in order to specify metal-only design changes to complex hardware data-paths through changes in the netlist. The invention comprises an initial import component that imports a working netlist which serves as the baseline on which the tool operates. The tool further comprises four components: a bus extraction component, an index creation component, a text editor, and an ECO generation component. One or more buses are extracted from the working netlist and tabulated into an index table. The user uses a test editor to modify the index table to create a modified index table that embodies the desired design change. Finally, the ECO generation component automatically reconfigures the modified index table into an ECO format in a language usable by automated physical design tools.

  • Patent number: 6237319
Abstract: A link for a wristband for coupling with other like links comprises a link segment having a forward end and a rear end. The rear end defines a first slot and the forward end is minimally smaller than the first slot. The forward end further defines a second slot therein. At least one pin is retained by the rear end of the link segment and extends into the first slot. The at least one pin is positioned to be received in the second slot of the forward end of a like configured link. A door is selectively slidable over the second slot for capturing and retaining the at least one pin of the like configured link.

  • Patent number: 6220371
Abstract: The present invention is a method and apparatus for real time in-situ measuring of the downhole chemical and or physical properties of a core of an earth formation during a coring operation. The present invention comprises several embodiments that may use electromagnetic, acoustic, fluid and differential pressure, temperature, gamma and x-ray, neutron radiation, nuclear magnetic resonance, and mudwater invasion measurements to measure the chemical and or physical properties of the core that may include porosity, bulk density, mineralogy, and fluid saturations. The present invention comprises a downhole apparatus coupled to an inner and or an outer core barrel near the coring bits with a sensor array coupled to the inner core barrel for real time gathering of the measurements. A controller coupled to the sensor array controls the gathering of the measurements and stores the measurements in a measurement storage unit coupled to the controller for retrieval by a computing device for tomographic analysis.

  • Patent number: 6189631
Abstract: A tool for expanding a hole size while drilling tool is disclosed. The tool utilizes a mechanically actuated mandrel and extendable cutting lugs designed in a configuration with fewer moving parts than previous designs. The cutting lugs have multiple cutting elements attached. The cutting lugs are driven between two cylindrical diameter surfaces to achieve a large differential between the retracted and extended positions of the tool, and to provide sufficient stability to allow the tool to be used in the extended position while drilling forward. The lugs are internally assembled and tapered to closely match the slots in the body of the tool for additional stability and to prevent complete passage through the tool for prevention of catastrophic failure. The tool has a locking mechanism to allow the tool to remain in the extended position when the weight is removed from the tool.
